Since Bear is not a Board Sponsor and I have a relationship with him, I may get in trouble for this! Here is where you can see his gears. Find his home site and e-mail him! http://www.bearracing.com/Products/Photos/7856.jpg

I don't know anyone in the states running them on a ZX12 but there are several Turbo Hayabusa owners running overdrive gears on their bikes at the ECTA events.

It allows you to be geared short for the 1/4 mile (1 to 4th gear) and then be geared tall for top speed run in 5th & 6th gear. sSort of like having a car with 4.88 rear gear and being able to shift out of that gear to a 3.08 for the highway!

Yes, for $500 you cant beat the "gearing" advantage! All you need is the hp to pull them!

...so let me guess...for those of us running 17t w/+1 or 2 in the rear, this would allow us to have short gears 1-2-3-4 gears for the twisties and tall 5-6 gears for the freeway...like when its a long I-5 relatively straight ride to Dino's and twisty on the way to Laguna via DA'DEBIL!!!! road called Hwy-36???...

...am I on the right track?...man, having 5-6 tall gears would be great for gas milage on a 17/48 geared bike...does Muzzy's make these?...is Bear the only player?

worm I live about 3/4 of a mile from HW 36 and it's not to twisty way up here in northern Utah. I have done some high RPM runs on that HW. There are some sections that are straight for over 10 miles with no driveways/exits etc. Just the tumble weeds and the roaming cows.

I have asked Vincent to find out if the gears are streetable, but haven't heard back from him yet.

Didnt bother with the price , cuz if they wont go the distance, I am not interested.
Should have asked the $$ anyway, duh.
Hopefully he will have all the info soon.

I would love to tighten up the gears (close ratio gear box) and throw in an over drive 6th. My HRC RC51 is set it up with a really sweet close ratio gear box. But without a overdrive gear we have to run the sprocket gearing really tall. So it is challenge in first gear (does about 90 in first!). But it rips otherwise. Once you get it into the power it basically works on the premise of shifting at or near the rev limiter (max Horsepower), and the rpms then drop down just enough to put the bike at max torque, repeat as necesary! I would love to try something similar on the 12.

Oh Vincent....... Vincent.... we need your connections and information!!
