I broke 1 puller in 2 years, but i don't dragrace every weekend, either. my concern is with the stock hub and basket. i have seen both break before on other bikes, and it a'int pretty. and on bikes that are making lots of hp, this could happen even after the launch and yer moving good.

Yah, first thing I did was a drilled basket and the billet hub.

ok i have a muzzy lockup and billet basket.
i have been running it for 2 years now.
i have the support in the cover to keep
the puller rod where it belongs.
with out the support bearing it will fail.
i have not broken it (i know some of you will say yet)
you can launch at what ever rpm you want to. till the input shaft starts to spin there is no load on the puller rod. if it is setup as a pin it , throw it out setup it should never brake.cause you are released as it starts to roll.
i am using mine to get rid of the tight ass springs so i have more controle of the lever.
i have 2 arms with aluminum bolts and one weight on each arm
i have 4 mtc springs with .125" shims.
i am hand launching it as crotchrocked sugested and it works well and it keeps me from
killing my 330 time by letting it out too quick because it still slipps some.
the only thing is i jerk shift it and my policy is do not use the clutch handle above 4000rpms in any gear.
i have not broken any plates since i installed stuarts muzzy lockup setup.
can the person repost the picture ahain on the typical failure? what happens? does the nail head pop off or does the end just get burned up and take out the puller arm and puller?

Glad ya got it all sorted out....I remember the phone calls when you were sorting out the different static spring pressures.....I just made a slight change in mine after the 1287cc motor work....It felt like the weight was coming in too fast,so we`ll see.....6 arms.no weight on 3 and alum. bolt and alum nut on the other 3....17/52 gearing...4 light springs and .100 shims...1.46 60` @ 8000 rpms.....May need to add a couple teeth if it needs to leave higher than 8000 rpms....

hi paul. i think i have the springs that they concidered lite also. i put it on a scale and they were same installed weight as the stockers. but these springs respond to shimming so it seems to work. if you want to know the installed weight i can mock it up on the scale and tell you.
untill i make my bike longer i can not throw it out pinned.
i think the less arms will have a softer enguagement (longer time under arm clamp till it locks up as they will need more road rpms till it pushes down)
my bike with .075 would lift off and get a 1.57 60ft till i had to let off to drop the front so i quit that idea> no way i was getting a lower 60ft that way.

If you can get a chance let me know what the installed weight is, please let me know.....
If this setup doesn`t do what I want,I might just take 3 arms off all together......
Hey ,as long as it works for you thats good....Mine is at 68" wb now, with it strapped down....
Sorry to hear bout you MOPAR motor fail....
