What a coincidence.
I am going to put a remote starter to my moms car tomorrow morning.
Promises to be quite an ordeal, going to be the first project I work on together with my brother in years. (last one was cleaning his garage/PoleBarn/Packrat nest)

And it may be the last.

That stuff seems to be substantially harder to install on later model cars that already have some form of remote door/trunk locking system AND a programmable "Anti-thief" ignition key. I left it up to some "professionals" when it came to putting one in my daughter's new Accord SE. Way too much work for me to mess with.

Since the new truck has quick heating seats (and a 5 speed), I'm not too worried about a remote start to warm the truck up before I get in. I might think differently in just a few minutes when I step outside to get in the truck (currently about 18F - 13F for tonight's low).

Here I thought you'd went and installed a remote start on your bike!! Up here on the Great Plains those things are about as abundent as cell phones. Alot of the dealers even offer these as incentives to buy. You can't beat em when your talking sub-zero temps.

Hey, Worm-
Yeah. Yeah- How 'bout this.....
I got out of the house at 9, was skiing on the Mt. Batchelor summit (9000ft) by 9:45. Had lunch on the deck in the sun and skied some more 'till 2-- THEN, was out on the 12 by 2 for a couple of hours (65 F) 'till dark.

Remote starters are the way to go - got me a VIPER unit for my 2000 Expedition Eddie Bower - with heated seats/climate control I'm nice and toasty on cold days. Now if only I could pre-heat my heated motorcycle suit.... hmm....
