Chatted with Beansbaxter today
Hey ya'll I got to chat with Beans(Daniel) today he is in Kuwait stationed at Doha. He seems to be doing good, but he hates this place as much as I do.. Angi he asked for your email, so I gave it to him, hope ya dont mind. He is gonna send out a group email to everyone he has the addy to, I will try to post it on here when I get it so he can stay in touch with us that way. I will try to keep you all posted... Jim

hey just got and email from him thought I woudl share it with you all....
hello friends...daniel here. first chance ive had to
get online over here. the .org names are blocked so i
cant get on the bikeland site. hope all of u are doing
well. i hate it here, i hate it here, i hate it
here....grrr......
im stationed at camp doha in kuwait city, kuwait. we
have to ride into doha to get to any computer access,
and its nearly next to impossible to get online. so
dont expect too many of these.
i really hate it here...im eod, sometimes there is a
lot of stuff to do, sometimes not. we got word that
bush just sent for another 37000 troops over here so
who knows where this conflict will go. another 10
months and hopefully ill be back stateside.
just wanted to drop a line since i have a chance at
the moment. u all are missed, take care, god bless!

dude, tell him u can get here by http://zx12rzone.com too.
doesn't have to use bikeland.org.
but i can imagine that browsing a board could take more silicon horsepower than he has available

I got a copy of that email too, sounds rough, I'm sure it's a huge adjustment.
My sister (Major in USAF) recently got back from a long stay @ Incirlik AFB Turkey so I've heard a lot about what's really happening there. Although her stay there was probably mild compared to some of the other areas, because of what they do there at Incirlik they got to see most of the troops that had a real hard time. I think if people here got to see that first hand they'd appreciate the personal sacrifices that are being made.

You are right Dave, but fortunately not more people have to see this stuff....its really sad over here. They are still rebuilding from Desert Storm....probably will for a long time....the only grass here is what is planted, and that is the same with trees.....not like home.....

hey Fish, he and I are in 2 different areas over here, I have a LAN in the tent here and I brought my personal laptop over here.....I dont know what the firewall settings are on his lan, but they must be differnt than here. I am moving to a different camp on sunday, I may not have the net at all over there...not sure yet...we shall see.....so if you dont hear from me after sunday, that is why....Fish Beans is just getting here, he is prolly gonna have a lot of trainign to do. I have been here for 4 months now, my training is all over, we are just relaxing here in our tents, doing small details around the camp.

hell fish I have heat and AC in the tent too, along with a tv/playstation....but it cost to do it....lol actually they are outfitting all the tents with heat and ac, and electric, trying to get phones and the net in each of them too, but so of it is slow getting here.... I am a E-6 Staff Sergeant.. I am a Recon Scout in a Armor battalion... I will try to load up some pics to imagestation and see if I can get them to work....if not I might have to take you up oj your offer to upload them for me

Let us know if you and beans want any care packages and where to send them.It doesn't matter if your locked down or half way around the world, mail is nice. I've been there.

Really! And we'll try to go easy on the contraband stuff too! Beer doesn't ship too well anyway.
Seriously, if you guys need anything, just tell us where to send it and we'll do the best we can to get it to you. Except for your girlfriend or your bike. The "shipping" part wouldn't be a problem, but I don't thing you'd want us doing the "handling" part.
Tell beans we miss him and we're all thinkin' about ya'll and keepin' ya both in our prayers.

hey Alive you are absolutely right about mail, email is cool, but it never makes mail call...
Pastor, ya might be better off handling my g/f than the bike....the g/f can defend herself, I would have to be defending the bike...  I appreciate the offer to send stuff, I think my family has everything in hand at the moment, but thanks again ya'll.....its good looking out....
When I get Beans mailing address, I think it would help him alot if you all drop a line to him once in a while, I knwo it helps me. I have a big family, I am one of 12 children, so I get lots of mail.....
