is it the charging system

just recently changed a battery, been ok for the last month or so, now it would turn over a few cranks then stop like the starter was hanging up, sometimes it would turnover n start but if i use the fast idle or turn the throttle while tryin to start it would turn over maybe twice n stop, after the i let the fuel pump stop cycling it would turn over twice or so then stop, now i can push start it all day but today it cut off at an intersection, luckily it turned over n started on the 2nd revolution, got home n it just hangs up, checked the voltage in the battery and it read 12.31, i had the battery on a charge and it still would hang up so i'm thinkin i could have two issues, one being the stator goin bad n the starter as well, ANY INPUTS ON THIS? i also believe at 4500 rpms wit a fan load the terminal only read 12.8x, i read somewhere it shouldve been alot higher, i'm going to check it again when i get it running

One thing...make sure it isn't dumping too much fuel on start up. That will create a hydraulic lock condition. Drain your oil and look for fuel on top.

This could happen if your power commander takes a dump.

i have noticed somewhat of a pop on decel after a long pull that wasnt there before, The power commander shouldnt reset itself after pulling a battery out n installing one should it? But then again it ran fine after swapping the battery out. When the pc does go bad will it just not light up nemore? loose map? Also if i unplug the pc from the power source will the bike run off of the ecu or do i have to take the pc plugs off the injectors?

tour chargine system should be around 14 vdc at the positive when running with some rpms say 3000. maybe higher. my connie is about 14.5 vdc.
when you push the starter button the positive terminals voltage should be above 10vdc a high compression engine will need higher cranking voltage.
when i hit the front brake my headlight actually gets brighter.
the poping on my bike was when i had it somewhat rich on acceleration and left off with the kleen system still working.
if you get a car battery with good jumper cables hooked to the bikes system and it does not start hot then it has to be the starter or starter relay or the crank getting tight whan hot.

It does this when cold starting as well, I'll b home n 6 hours or so, I'll troubleshoot sum of the things I think it is n let y'all know the results, kinda hoping an injector stuck open or PC lost ground

vac out of the plug was 114vac @4k rpms, vdc was 13.75 at the battery terminal @ 4k rpms, so the charging system seems to be working fine, a little on the weak side but decent, checked for open injectors, unplugged the pc n hooked it up straight to ecu, same issue, checked the starter relay as well, then i thought......................that muzzy ignition advancer had some questionable 3 little ass allen head bolts that i didnt quite like, took off the cover n bammmmm, the ignition had advanced itself to the last line, which i thought would be 10 degrees, each line is 5 from what i read, so i backed it back to the middle of the stock setting n the first line, put the cover on n it starts just fine! Wow, now is there a way anyone fixed this issue with the muzzy advancer or did i just put too much umfff in tightening the little allenheads?
