There are some people that don't know Geography in there own country. Most of the board members know that I work in the airline business. Here are a few examples that I have experienced. The passenger would be asked where are you traveling today? Passenger replied California. Airline agent asked which city or airport are you traveling to? Passenger replied, California, well if you can't figure it out here is my itinerary.
Another example. Passenger walks up and says that they are traveling to Portland. The passenger is asked if they are traveling to Portland Oregon or Maine. The passenger replied Oregon of course where else.
And yet another one.
The passenger states that they are traveling to the largest state in the Nation. The airline agent stated that there is no reservation on any flt going to either Anchorage or Fairbanks. The passenger gets this dumb look on their face and states that they are going to Texas not anywhere near Alaska. Also Texas is the biggest State in the Nation. The airline agent stated that Alaska is aprox. twice the size of Texas. The passenger almost got into a fistfight with the airline agent over that statement.

lol! anyone ever seen the "talking to americans" segment on "this hour has 22 minutes"? too fuckin funny.

for those that dont know it, a well dressed journalist (supposedly) approaches people at random (often at universities) and asks them to sign petitions for so and so. one example i remember was a petition to legalize newspapers in canada. stuff like that. u wouldnt beleive how many people go for it.

Hitachi 57swx20b ... was thinking about a 65 but I'm glad I didnt go any bigger... although I have the physical room for the larger screen the 57 just barely holds the digital ntsc signal from Directv. The analogue cable signal looks terrible. Any larger and the mpeg dithering would be unacceptable. I've seen the set with an HD signal, and it does look awesome, but I dont have the HD receiver yet.... I'm exploring my HD provider options and I'm still undecided....

TV is pretty cool... everyone should go and get a big tv, just because!

death... I'd hold off on the plasma... technology is realtively new and lifespan is prettymuch unknown... RPTV (rear projection), much like conventional CRT's is in a highly perfected state and has been around fer years now....

if you do choose to got he plasma route, Costco sells a few and they claim to have a no BS total refund guarantee even if it dies 5 years from now... .this would save you getting an extended warranty which could cost up to $2K depending on the purchase price of the set...

There is also the 1080i v 720p v 1080p issue to be settled still by maufacturers...

z- nice 64" ... I kept thinking about going to the 65 but honestly I dont know how the pix would look with std mpeg sat in... also the local cable provider has a digital cable feed, but the lower band channels remain broadcast in analogue and they look like shit on my 57".... for this reason I think "upsizing" to the next level would be a waste for me as they'd look even worse on a bigger set...

do you have the Avia disc for calibration of yer set? I picked it up and the pix is much better now that I have run it.
