tool steel arm and pullers

anyone intrested in tool steel clutch puller parts?
we are making the long muzzy puller out of A2 and
i cut the arm (part the cable hooks into) off the shaft
that wares out for some due to stiff springs or too low
stack hight.
you will have to index and weld your arm on for the cable.

Seems like you should be making a puller(the one in the hub) out of tool steel....I never had prob.`s with the cable shaft one......

if you are required not to run a lock up, I can see where this could be needed........

If not, as I have said, you are doing a bunch of crap wrong, unless you are still trying to use muzzy parts......

And by you, I mean everyone.

well nox everyone i know who took thier "stock" zx12 apart i looked at the puller arm and there were big flat spots.i had to buy the muzzy tower piece. but it is the last one cause the next one i put in will be the A2 tool steel one we are making and i did not even brake one yet. just planning ahead. with a tool steel tower and a tool steel arm in a oil bath it should be the last setup needed.
if it works out making a stock length puller tower piece should be as easy.
i doubt as i said a couple of posts ago using 3 to 4 springs only the puler arm should be a non issue.

If I understand right: some people using stiff springs are braking the part of the clutch puller that the cable connects? I've also had that problem in my first 12. After about 100k km (60k miles) when I was riding trough Europe late night on German autobahn I noticed that my clutch lever came to loose. I stopped and noticed that the part had gone in to two pieces because of the clutch cable. I then used couple of zipties to make it work, but it lasted only mayde 10 km and after that the puller rod itself broke. Rode to hotel without clutch and next morning went to an Opel (car) service where nice guy welded it together. Then rode 500km to the Italian Riviera where my wife would fly the day after and brought me an complete new clutch puller. So now I always have the welded part below the seat - just in case. But when examining the cable I found that the cable end had come rounded or in fact V-shaped during all the miles it had been on the bike (it was original part) and that probably broke the puller in the first place. So I changed the clutch cable and never had the same problem for the 20k km I sitll had that bike. So what I'm saying is that if You broke that part change also the clutch cable if it looks like worn.
