I just got mine today. Great people and I really appreciate it but, I feel that I should not have my picture in there (Just like my license) until I have done something (Other than the tan??) / Earned it/ Broke a real record that existed, then "OK"! (Maybe if I was 90 also )

Vincent,
It's really hard to see the dark tan in the picture with your full face helmet and leathers.....I believe it's got everything to do with a new member enjoying life as a land speed racer.

Hells Dark Lord,
Send me you address and I'll make a copy and mail it to ya.

You can read them online at http://www.ecta-lsr.com click on results then news letter. The only difference is the printed versions that are sent in the mail include additional photos and captions. To receive a newsletter in the mail you can become a member of ECTA (East Coast Timing Assoc); form and info on the website.

Nobody answered my question is that from the October newsletter or is there a new one out that I haven't seen yet?

Let me answer two questions with one post. Bergie, it is the same news letter as on the web site, but without the Pictures that are "NOW" all here.

HellsDL, here is the site URL and now no need for oldkawboy to send it,

Cool. Im getting another bike ready for Maxton now. Im gonna try for a few records AND get my A license this year!
This time I plan on arriving Friday early afternoon and setting up the "Master pit" area. Complete with full 110 service and other amenities.
Should be fun!

Looking for a steering dampener now.

Is there any definitive word on the 2 piece leathers thing again this year?

YES, They are Banned! I have a serious suggestion, Why not send them to Barnacle Bill's and have him make them 1 piece. My Guess is between $100 and less than $200??

TB, I am for sure going in April, I am only thinking about March (2 weeks in Daytona, then a few more days at the end of the month, they may get the idea that they can live without me at work?

believe it or not at the october event where this photo was taken

the nice lady in the white hat was checking leathers on every rider before every run. They checked your helmet strap, collar, jacket zipper and if you were wearing two piece they checked the jacket-to-pants zipper too. She also told me that they "planned" to enforce the one-piece rule next year but I'm sure there will be some people who will get by without as usual. Will have to scope it out in March and see what happens. I plan to fight it all the way kicking and screaming

Well...its not like they actually make you WEAR your leathers through tech

So we could all just take steves 1 piece suit up and pass tech...then wear our own shit

I really am not big on forkin over the cheese on a set of one piece leathers...not to mention I REALLY dont think my body needs a form fitting leather glove on it

Guess ill just go with the rental route from Vanson...or maybe if enough people are interested...they will send a rental van or somethin there.

WTF is wrong w/two piece leathers? As long as they zip together & the zipper is covered by leather (like my Vanson's) I don't see an issue.

VINCE: Did you bike fit into the Astro Van or did you tow it down?? (looking into a van for hauling mine; & it don't fit into my Caravan.)

Thats our question too Dave....MANY people are bitching about this new rule.

Hell if a 2 piece suit is good enough for the NHRA...wtf is up with ECTA?
