low torque on dyno run.?
i just had a custom map made for my bike.BIG DIFFERENCE.(in drivabiltiy,no hesitations,no surge, very very smoooth, etc.)wound up with mid 170'sh.p,but my torque was wierdly low at 90.5.the bike runs great now but i would have liked to see better torque,my friends stock 12 pushed 93.5.what gives here?is their a common culprit for the low torque #'s.i'm wondering if its that serpent pipe i'm running with the flatened header tubes?

Generally lean mixtures make horsepower and rich makes torque. But I really have no experience with the Micron Serpentine pipes.

correct me if I am wrong Z, but I have heard that header pipe length, also plays a factor in the HP torque figures???

Header pipe length as well as the can length can effect horsepowr nd torque.

that is what I thought, all of these then can play a factor in hp gains and torque losses, or the other way around. That is why some pipes do well in one area, and lack in another.....

OK, can someone please explain to me how you can get more horsepower and less torque? I thought that horsepower was a function of torque. Something like: HP = torque x RPM/5252.

Every dyno place I've been to always saves everyones runs. Hard drive space is dirt cheap these days. There's a good chance that they'll still have your runs from last year.
