can't get it
The gasket for the valve cover dropped down the spark plug hole. I tried everything and it won't come up. I'm at a loss and thinking of pulling the motor. I can't get to the spark plug to remove it along with the gasket.Good thing the heat wave is past.

Try a 'hook' you can make from coat hanger wire or more flexible wire witha small hook/bend to pick up the gasket, Should be able to snag it.

if you can see it with a mirror or just looking u can try what I did. Brass washer fell in mine so I was screwed for using a magnet but using tape i. e. electrical tape reversed wrapped on the end of a rod or whatever can fit can stick to it. I've even added a little super glue on the tape but u have to be quick and careful with that. Good Luck!

Yeah, those round ones that go with the seven bolts to hold the cover on. It came out in less then a minute with the motor on the ground. I was concerned when I pulled the plug, after the gasket was out that, to find it dark in color. Same thing in the next cylinder over. Pulled the head and it looks good. PHEW!

take a hanger with double sided tape at the tip of it and just poke at it and get it out.

I was talking to someone at work and saying how I could probably tell you where each bolt went on the motor just by looking at it
