I wonder what they plan on doing. Kinda scary to think of some 1/2 assed tech ripping through my wire harness to shoot some silicone around some wires.
Anyone know what Kawi perscribed for this?

I've already.......
I've already fixed mine. FUCK!!! They are a little late with this one. Mine worried the hell out of me for a few months before I decided to go for broke. I'm just glad I got it fixed before one of the Harley guys here @ work saw me wipin' oil off my swingarm and hugger. As much shit as I give them they'd have never let me live that down.

What criteria has to be met for Kawi to come out with a recall? Exspecially with all the fault in their clutches, why are they holding back on that. It sounds like this recall has been a known issue. What shocks me is that the 03 models were released with the problem also, ready for a recall.

I just got the recall notice also...
3407 is my VIN I have a very early production one. Infact I've only seen VIN's as low as mine in other countries.
Zhooligan, whats you last 4 ? I bet you have a low number VIN ?
The parts will be available in the "4th week of December" to "repair" the bike and "this repair will take about 1/2 hour for the dealer to complete"

VIN? How about 002612?
I can scan it but to post in jpg it isn't legible.
It says "Bla Bla Bla......Your Kawasaki dealer will correct this problem for you at no charge. The correction will consist of sealing the alternator lead wires. This repair will take about one half hour for the dealer to complete. the parts to complete this repair will be available to dealers the fourth week of December. Bla bla bla..."

Silver was not available in the States for the 2000. But it was in Canada. Also with the exchange rate I believe they paid Swft money to take it home at the time! ;p

I got mine today too. I hadn't seen a leak (yet) the last time I looked, but it's probably only a matter of time. I'm not letting the monkeys near it until and unless it becomes a problem.
So do recalls ever expire? My warrantee is long gone...
Oh, last 4 numbers 0855, Mine never touched tires to the showroom floor. Not even to roll through on the way out the door. (name on the list for months)
