cold starts
hey guys so every time i start my bike it never starts on the first try why is this? i have a 00 zx12 with fully muzzy's exhaust and k&n filters.... when i start is turns over and runs for just a second then when i restart it will either do it again or start up but run a little rough then level out any ideas about this????

This is normal, it takes a sec for the air box sensor n ecu to get the choke right for cold starts, the lever on ur left is only a fast idle n the bike will normally start n cut off, but then start an idle then pick up a fast idle, the Ecu will automatically cut the choke off When the temp sensor warms, now this info may b wrong but its what I've believed, lol

Sounds lean. My Muzzy setup ran the same way without a power commander. It was fine with a power commander and good map, however.

try checkin ur battery... my 03 was doin the same, pulled the batt out it read 95% charged it and no problems since... so I figure 95% was too low a charge for my bike... also a power commander should help, runnin to rich will cause problems too.
