How does each state handle motorcycles?
Curious of which states require motorcycle insurance?
The ones I know are...
Washington - no insurance, helmet required
Idaho - insurance required, no helmet
Oregon - insurance and helmet required
Florida - no insurance, helmet required or no helmet with insurance
What about the rest of the states? Everyone chime on in.

Thanks Dave! Thats a good link, but it doesnt show insurance requirements for the states. That was my main concern with restrictions, cause it will help decide where I want to move after WA.

INSURANCE IS REQUIRED. BUT NO HELMET. EYE PROTECTION OR A WINDSHIELD IS NEEDED.
BTW-if your girlfriend is still under the age of 18 when you move here in a couple of years, she will HAVE to wear a helmet.

Same goes for Indiana. You need a helmet if you only have a motorcycle learners permit and/or are under the age of 18.

In AR, you must also wear protective eyewear sans helmet. You also must be 21 or older to ride/drive a bike sans helmet.

I read that Arkansas requires that your sister to wear a helmet when riding as a passenger unless she is your wife.

So Washington State and Florida are the only states that dont require any insurance on motorcycles? This is lame.

Liability insurance is almost free on a bike? And I believe that is all the other states really require. Some of the states will let you ride without a helmet if you have medical, but Liability is cheap.

I dont want to open the insurance can of worms...but at 24 and renting, liability isnt even cheap enough to be honest.
I'll be 25 when I get back so things might look a little better, we'll see. I've always saved by riding motorcycles in WA since no insurance is required, not that I can get it in the first place.

Kansas: Liability insurance. Helmets if under 18, eye protection required unless windshield is at least 10 1/2 inches above centerline of handle bar.

You mean there's a difference? Does their amount of teeth they have (or have not) matter? What about cousins/wives? What if they're twice removed (probably legal in more states then we'd all wish to admit)?
DAMN! I don't know what I was thinkin'! They'd be under 18 (even under 16) anyway.

Just for you Beans...

You'll need to check out the following:
5-14-103. Rape.
5-14-110. Sexual indecency with a child.
In Arkansas, if they are old enough to bleed, they are old enough to breed.
Also check out:
5-26-202. Incest.
9-11-106. Incestuous marriages - Penalties for entering into or solemnizing.
First cousins are fair game. Makes for interesting family reunions.
