For me its a way to escape my job and the bullshit of day to day living. I could care less about anything else in the world when I am on the bike.

Beans, good thread:
I learned on the Discovery Channel recently that I am almost certainly "dopamine deficient". Taking my 12 to the track fixes that. I get "stage fright" lining up for the 1st pass, but after the 1st run I am pumped with endorphins/adrenaline/dopamine and can't wait for the succeeding passes.
Truly an addiction, albeit legal, possibly less costly than smack... A fix lasts a week; i am in witdrawal now with the bike in the shop.

I thought I would attract more girls with my 12, but I have yet to see that light. I dont know what I'm doing wrong, I slow down when I see them. Poo me.

what my 12 is to me
My 12 is patience, speed, sanity, an attention getter, exciting, hateful, inspiring, and fun. I haven't found it to be expensive as some have stated. I do all my own maintenance with the exception of one or two things I leave to the dealer. It allows me to be patient because I can get almost anywhere extremely fast. It lets me leave the world behind at a blink of an eye. It is a part of me that only I get in touch with. Simply irresistible

My ZX-12 means to me that I can be part of the joyous sharing in the forums related to the mighty 12.

entropy, You're probably right but the 1/4 mile just isn't for me. Anyway I found that my bikes get anywhere from 30~38MPG, the tire sictuation isn't as bad as I've heard from others. I change my tires at the begining of the riding season wheather they need it or not. I do most of the maintenance myself (the dealers near me s?ck). I found that since my wife started riding I could save a small amount of $$$ doing the repairs on both bikes, then use the money saved for add-ons, upgrades, ect..

My 12 was the most awsome bike I'd ever owned as far as power, speed, and handling. However, it was also the closest thing to a lemon that I've ever owned too. In all honesty, I traded it off because I got sick of Kaw refusing to put a decent ECU in it so it would at least run right at anything less than WFO, refusing to admit there were clutch problems (even though most every piece was updated on the '01), and wondering if the basket would break before the rods fell out. (Basket came apart about 500 miles after I got rid of it)
I did love the looks and power though, and may end up with another one someday.
