If you lost your 12....
...accident,theft,whatever.Would you get another 12,already owning one and experiencing one?Or would ya try something else?
I think I mught try a 1K if I were in those shoes,since I'm becoming fond of wheelies,stoppies and stuff.Plus,lets face it,they haul azz and handle better than any street rider will ever need.
I'm really gonna try to keep the mighty 12 to put manners on non-beleivers,along with a 1K or the like.
The bank's got tons of money,right?

I'd probably replace it with another 12. And probably another 00. Still quite a few setting in dealerships! I just like the look of the 00 and 01 over the 02. Not saying that the 02 isn't a better or more refined bike, I just like the more angular tough look of the 00. And I pretty much rebuild my bikes into what I want so a lot of the 02 and 03 changes are mute.
I am really looking at an upright Hooligan bike for my next purchase. I will have to check the new Kawi out. But I am pretty sure that Kawi as did Honda and Yamaha have nutered the bike. I want an hooligan bike with a 155 hp or more. The truth is I want 200 hp but thats another story.

...agree...I'd always want an 00' just because...and the thought of an 00'-based naked street-fighter 12R with the same ergonomics of the stock 12R sans bodywork absolutely frightens yet, intrigues me

A naked 12 could look good,with some re-routing of plumbing and wiring,a little aluminium/plastic cover here and there....Actually,I saw one somewhere on the net.Thought it looked badass.And nobody would know what the hell it was!

I'm in the minority(?) too,i like the '00's looks.No frills,just punch-ya-in-the-face attitude.And those who knock it,somewhere in their head,are thinkin' how cool it is.

would own another blackand gold 02......dont ever see myself not haing it, but the thought of a zx10 appeals to me, or the new 6rr.....but I will always have the 12.......

Been there, done that. Last year I was gone for seven months. Got back to town late Tuesday, had one on Thursday!! 00 all the way.......

Had the choice back in March, '00 is gone, '02 is here.
All things considered I'm very happy the way it all worked out.

I've asked myself this same ? over and over and my answer to myself is always another red 2k 12. However, I have looked longingly @ the Black/gold 2002-12.

man to me there is just something about my 00, maybe it was living all of the hype, and drooling over the pictures on the internet for 6 months, I just love the 00-01 look! I would go with the 00 again in a heartbeat.

Went from an 00 to an Oh2 (thanks DID ) No regrets really.
If I had to buy another bike, I might consider a turbo busa.
I would "try" other bikes and I have in the past, but still keep a 12 around..regardless.

I got rid of my '00 12 because of the uneasy feeling that a. the clutch basket was gonna shit (it did, about 500 miles after I traded) and b. the fact that Kawasaki had no interest in doing anything about the clutch, or the piss poor drivability with the stock ECU. Will I ever have another one? I'm not sure. The horsepower was highly intoxicating, but I now have a GS1150ES drag bike and a cherry '76 KZ900 street bike so I just don't see me with another big sport bike.

I'd find a one owner 1978 KZ1000.....wait, I got one of those!
Just saw a '03 green 12, it would have me written all over it (with the wheels painted the same as the frame & swingarm)if something happened to my '00 silver twelve.
