Poser = Hanger Queen = Owner of a very pretty bike that's never ridden farther than the local starbucks, wears race leathers and boots while sipping a latte, but looking at those kneepucks, they've never been closer than two feet from the ground.
So RUB (Rich Urban Biker) is certainly appropriate, but probably not encompassing. 
I would say that they are almost diametrically opposed to Squids. Squids ride trashed bikes with scarfed up plastic, in nothing but shorts and flip-flops.

squids: they are more vocal in their idiocy, and display it as often as possible, usually to the detriment of the image of other normal bikers.
or get interviewed by liberal media (i know i know repetitious) and made intoa front page news story entitled 'speed freaks' or some such crapola.

Squids are definitely more dangerous. Posers are pretty much harmless idiots, but hey........they look "cool".

Squids are ,by far,more dangerous to our motorcycle "lifestyle".Every time one wheelies into the back of a car,smokes a donut around a car at a light,etc. That kind of stuff sticks in peoples minds.
Let em pose all they want! Something cool to look at,right?
I screw around sometimes on my 12,but I'm not an asshole about.Hell,even when pass a car,I click up a couple gears, and go quietly by instead of stopping their heart with a wide open Akro.Unless they just cut me off,then i'm wide open in first,an inch from their window!That's gotta get em a few inches off the seat.

ok now that I understand the terminology....I am inclined to agree that the squids are far worse to the motorcycling image....... hell from what I understand, the posers are promoting all the latest safty gear....lol

there are trackdays & drag strips
everyone could avail themselves of quite a bit of
fast safe riding if they wanted to
there would be less incidents of out running the cops
senseless accidents involving bikes
on Racer road or JackAss flats
many get away with a lot
with so little luck

i also try to be as inconspicuous as possible when passing, but again if someone is driving like a prick, i give them 600 screaming ccs at 13200rpm as i pass them. *evil grin*
though it wont be as loud now, in further attempts to lessen my auditory impact (and a little stealth mode running) i have put my stock exhaust back on, no more v&h. so gap5 will be a tad quieter (for my contributions anyway)
gap3 was interesting, didnt realize it until last week, the tnhp dragracing sting was during that period. myself and greenglenn ended up in their camera. anyway my bike was heard 10 seconds before i got into the picture, and i was wringing it out in 2nd, prolly near "40" or so....
(some green bike with big guy in white leathers was chasing me.....)
anyway glad we were behaving that day ;P

Yeah Slug I saw that the sting was that same weekend and we didn't have any trouble with cops at all, except at the gas station.

Squids are the worst. Posers just add to the buying pool. If there were not Posers Harleys would cost about $7500!. But becasue of Posers they cost 20 K. Supply and emand you know!!!

...I can honestly say I never started out as a squid (as described here) cuz' I've never learned how to wheelie or back it in a corner or lean far enough to drag my knees (excpet when I carashed )...I dunno if i qualify as a poser, cus all my stuff is black and all my stickers have been removed...ok, I forgot...I have a poser dragon Duhamel helmet, but it was the only helmet I could find at the track (on the last day of the races) that would fit for the ride home (my black AC-10 was toast from the crash)...
...so, I have another shiny new black AC-10 that I use, and the $385 poser helmet will sit on the shelf collecting dust next to my old poser Rainey replica helmet...I guess I could be a careful poser who tries to keep up with the more talented riders, but I have no qualms about backing off when I start to shit myself...at least I'm honest about it
...still, I'm of the opinion that squidly behavior is ultimately very bad for our sport...posers help to keep the industry afloat...

hehe i liked that gas station thing too, i pulled up, and she points at me and says YUP that's one of them. the red one. heh. like i was the only person on planet earth to have a *gasp* RED bike...
beyond logic, however did i pass her and then arrive at the destination AFTER she did is beyond me....and sinc ei was stopping for fuel, it wasn't cuz i fueled up in between...and of course no time to eat inmiddle either.
