I'm turning into a track ho...
I never thought I would say this, but I may be turning into a track ho. I expected to start drag racing when I bought the 12. It was inevetable. But, this week, with the help of Jason370, I found myself signing up for the California Superbike school on November 26th at Laguna Seca.
One CSS doesn't make you a track ho, but I also found out that Lance Kiegwin still has spots available for his track day at Laguna the day after Thanksgiving. I went into his shop to buy an M1 rear tire for the CSS school. I went in there wanting to just buy a 200 rear. I came out with a 190 and a reservation for another track day at Laguna on the 29th.
Does two days at Laguna Seca in the same week make me a track ho?

Don't Worry It Is A Good Thing
I too am going that way (I should have never wrote that). This year I did a track day at Road America and you will not believe the skill level you will pick up riding in that envorinment. You will progress ten fold over anything you are going to pick on the street. For next year I have 5 track days at Blackhawk farms (a little small for our bike) but a great place to learn. I will also be at Road America at least 4 days.
Now the best deal...
Two weeks in Deals Gap, thats is the icing on the cake.
Come on Spring,
Bart

wannabe.... It only gets worse. The disease has no cure. It can be controled, but it gets more expensive to do so as time goes by. I wish that I could offer you hope but unfortunately I must be honest.

all I can say guys, is I am hooked to, this summer my goal is to ride Road America, North Florida, Talledaga, and Roebling Road....if my schedule in the Army provides me time. But I will say that the bike I will be riding is not my ZED, it will be my 01 ZX6R.....that is what its set up for. And ya have to love the way the Pirelli Corsa's handle the curves.....just got to get the sterring dampner on it.

Anotheer reason to get a Scott. Order the mounting kit for your 12 and 6 and then you can share the damper unit between bikes!

I am still totally excited about next week!!! I've been dreaming about riding Laguna Seca since I was a young one watching Wayne Rainey passing people on the way down the corkscrew during the USGP races. I never thought I would get the chance to ride that track let alone ride it twice in one week!!!

Scotts....
I really like the Scotts damper. I haven't riden a 12 with the Muzzy unit.
Harry got my Scotts damper before we left Deals Gap back in September. He bought the mounting kit, so all he needed was the damper itself, he was going to run at Maxton and needed it. I missed the thing while he had it, the bike just didn't behave as well. Wheelie touchdowns were a lot more interesting too!

Hmmm....
that would be interresting to get a bunch of ZX12-R together and arrange a track day.
I know last time Fish_Antlers took his ZX12-R to the track he was fast in the straights, but 'most passed' in the corners.
It's alot of bike to throw around.
Me?
I had a blast. I love my ZX6-R.

I must admit the last time I took my 12 to the track, I did get passed going into the pits when practice was over. I really can't complain on how my 12 runs and handles. Certainly there are better track bikes, but I can hold my own pretty well on it. I suprised the hell ot of two 996 Ducati's when I passed them at the exit of turn 2 at Seattle Internatinal Raceway. You have to get used to hanging off and master throttle control. BUt in truth that is the same for every kind of machine.
It is fun being layed over coming out of the turn rolling the gas on and pulling those leaned over wheelies. Certainly not my RC51 or GSXR1000 but I love running the 12 on the track. And it is good practice for the twisties and the posers 600 boys looking to smoke me in the turns!!

I'm dragging my knee in turns 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9 at Seattle. I could probably do it in 8 but I don't want to end up in the woods!!

I will forget about trying to get the dishwasher - that is sitting in my Garage - put into my kitchen, before Christmas.
I will forget that I have no counter top in my Kitchen.
Did I mention the sink doesn't work?
Ah, I'll forget that too...
Why?

PK... I'll talk with my buddy Mario Alverez. He is the owner of Adrenaline Freaks Track Day Excursions. He has a large number of days at Pacific Raceway. I'll see about setting it up.
