Changing plugs 04 ZX12
Ok, so I've torn off the fairing lower, ram air tubes, and plastic plate over the cylinder head. Read that I need the spark plug tool out of the tool kit (that didn't come with my used bike). Any suggestions? Any tips would be appreciated. :P Also any recommendation on plugs? PC3 + Arata titainium+ K&N + sea level.

point the top of tool pointed towards the front when inserting bottom section into the hole......it is a pain in the ass geeting the coils out, sort of breaking the seal. try not pry on them.....

Now you can see the advantages of removing the Kleen air crap from the top of the motor, every bit of space is a god send.

Yea I probably should remove it while I'm there. I know that there is an article in here about it. I wound up buy the
CR9EIX (iridium) plugs as they were the only ones locally available, not to mention $7 a plug vx. $15.

I actually find it easier to change the plugs without the tool. I use a spark plug socket with a 3" wobble extension then a 1" wobble extension on that. You insert the socket then the 3" then the 1" and its cake from there, just make sure you put them in in that order and you have to take them apart individually when your taking it out.

actually the kawi tool worked well. it was easier then I thought. I had more trouble putting the firewall side plugs in the old lady's sebring convert. now if I can get these damned K&N filters out and clean them, biatches are stuck

If you have some silicone grease lube up the stick coil grommets so next time things are better.
And yes now is a great time to remove the Kleen air system. I welded up my stock plates so I did not even need to buy aftermarket plates Heres a link for one kind of removal although I just blocked off the reeds and vented the crank to atmosphere
