Wheelie Riders Beware

I had a customer bring in a 00zx12r the other day. He said he would get on the bike, turn the key on, & the digital readout would be blank & the needles would not sweep. I played with the bike for a little while & couldnt get it to do what he said. The next morning Bingo. I also noticed a small oil leak. I removed left & right side panels to check the leak, found it & fixed. Valve cover bolt came loose. In the process of fixing the oil leak somthing didnt look right with radiator, it was very low & laying on the ram air water traps. The damm mounting brackets were broke off & the lower left hand bracket was broke too. Sounds like some hard landings. Thats why you should always buy extended warranty. Instrument cluster $450.00, Radiator $600.00 plus laber. A DEALERSHIP THAT CARES ANDERSON POWER SPORTS {PRICELESS}. Just thought you might like to know.

As in Anderson Indiana??
Is there really a dealer in the Hoosier state that gives a fuck? There sure isn't one in Indianapolis, I won't let any of them here work on my bike. The last time one of them had my bike, it came back with a missing cam cover bolt and leaked oil. I was pretty pissy that my brand new (then) Bandit 12 with 500 miles on it was leaking oil.

Did the service department just cover it? No questions or hassles at all?

Yea, what beans said.
If you figure he was landing it hard, I'm curios how you justify this to kaw as under waranty.
Glad to hear there is a dealership that cares. We need more like you.

Honest I didn't do any wheelies. I did hit a couple of nasty bumps.

On a serious note, I think some speed bumps in these parking lots are getting out of hand...way too freakin' high!! 12 bottoms out on some of them, isnt there regulations for that sort of thing?

Sue Wal-Mart for damaging your bike due to their speed bumps.

Of course on a repair of this nature I have to call Kawasaki before I make a repair. I do get asked what I think happened, but Im not the person ridding the unit so I have no input for them on this matter. Fork seals were not blown so I dont know. It very well could have been caused buy a pothole or something else. My job is to try to help my costumer's any way I can. Kawasaki did agree to fix these parts one time. With that being said that should say something for Kawasaki. Ive been a tech for 8 years now & I can honestly say Kaw has a great warranty, but the dealer has alot to do with it too.
