That one made the pastor blush. Is this really necessary?

Ya know if I get more then one or two complaints... well, you do have the statement "Image Warning" in accordance to the pastor's rules of posting such content.

I guess there really isn't much I can say, but... I got better shit then that (no fisting though).

Bean, Hell no!

"Pastor Elk" was a name given me by a gentleman from Warsaw, Poland during the very early days of this forum. He would enjoy playing mind games with his posts to me and would push the limits of what I felt the forum's guidelines should be.

I refer to him as a gentleman because even though he'd get on my nerves, the amount of thought he'd put into his posts and his command of the King's English (as well as his native Polish, which he'd also post in) left me in awe and was quite impressive.

Even with all of his impressive intelligence and worldliness, I still controlled the EDIT/DELETE buttons. I do miss the verbal banter with him, but I can thank him for the title, Pastor Elk.

Z, I agree that this is not really what I'd like to see on this forum, but the only possible "violation" would be not using the "XXX" icon on the title of the post (in conjunction with IMAGE WARNING). The only problem is that I have never really said that using both the icon AND the statement is required.

Though this image is a tad more graphic, in the early days, "adult oriented" images would occasionally pop up from time to time. The "moderator's guidelines" on this has been posted several times, like this...

As for pornography (aka adult oriented material), I think that this aspect is one of the most vivid example of the forum's ability to police itself. My policy concerning this is simplely that it belongs in specifically marked threads and is under no circumstances to be posted in a technically oriented thread. I have never said or implied that one could not post such material. It is the general membership, not I, that has made the choice not to post such material.

On this issue, I chose this guideline to protect the members viewing this forum at their place of employment. If such an image were to appear on a technically oriented titled thread and someone was viewing it at work, sure enough, the boss or some "I'm a sexually harrassed female employee" would walk by. The results could easily be termination of the forum member's emplyment.

Now I would like such future posts to use the "XXX" icon WITH the IMAGE WARNING statement, just so it is clear on what the thread's content actually is. I think that would only be a fair request (which can just as easily turn into a mandate), seeing as how such images have be absent from this site for so long.

The bottom line is that the guidelines I have set on such not only governs those that post here, but they govern me as well. Since my guidelines have been in place, without change, since I became the moderator, the only way I would consider a major change to them is if Mad Dog, Fish or frEEk to me to do so.

As I said before, I do feel the "XXX" icon needs to be used in conjunction with the warning statement on all future posts of this nature. That's why the icon was added to the option list in the first place. The forum members can consider this a minor addition to the guidelines and will be required, as well as enforced, on future adult oriented posts.
