it doesnt have 220 speedos if thats what you mean,, silver paint, black wheels, says his title says A-1,, funny thing is when i went to ron ayers microfische,, it doesnt list a zx12 for 01,, and in 00 the A-l says one set of chatter rings,, the set all the way in the motor,, and then it lists 02 and 2 sets? but there is no option for 01 on that website,, just a zrx1100??,, so if it has two sets of chatter rings and the paperwork says A1 WTF? im lost.. did they screw up in Japan> or was it born on the cusp and if so it wouldve been on the border of the A2-B1 because when i opened it ,, it had 2 sets of chatters and the 2 washers that go with it,, and 2 large diameter fibers.. im lost?

no im talking about the rev limit in 6th, is it 11600 like 1-5, or is it a lot lower than 1-5?. the true 2000 A 1 bikes had the 11600 rpm rev limit in all 6 gears. in 01 for the A 2, they put a lowewr rev limit in 6th gear, effectively limiting the top speed to about 186mph(easily bypassed though )
im guessing the PO of the bike put in a full B clutch pack. wont hurt anything, kawi thought it was a better design anyway
yeah, I noticed that on Ron Ayers a couple weeks ago, they used to have the 01 on there but now its gone. dunno, go to kawasaki.com for their parts diagrams

thats what i told him (my brother),, still telling me his title says A1,, he is on his way home,, (45 miles away),, should be able to tell me how the clutch is when he gets home,, just put in the clutch i i didnt install the second set of chatter rings,, i thought the previous owner screwed up and put 2 sets in,, because i know my 2000 only has one set,, stack height was good @ 57.53ish,, so we will see? i dont know what the hell??

so your saying you think the PO went with the newer style but he should be OK? using one set of chatters and call it a done deal,,? as far as stack height,, can you go over the high spec? i was contemplating putting one 2.0 steel in but that wouldve made it a click or two over the limit,, i do notice that his puller arm is not pointing at the 8mm bolt on the clutch cover like mine is directly,, his is about 5 degrees off from mine or so...?

yes, and he will be fine with one set IMO, but it may feel better with 2.
the main thing to look at is the angle on the puller. make it like the pic in the manual. angle directly affected by stack height and the clutch cover gasket thickness, and you can even play with washers on the pusher (under the pressure plate) to get the correct angle.
if the stack height is too high and the rest of the setup is oem, it will put a lot of strain on the very edge of the puller shaft where it grabs the pusher. wait for the pack to wear some, then put the 2.0 in to bring it back into spec to get more life out of the fibers

You must have one of the good ones then. I guess they can vary a bit from bike to bike but its generally accepted that its about 11600. Mine is 11580 comfirmed by my data logger

well i tried at maple grove twice with them not putting out the carpet and spun. but i am sure i need to. going to try tomorrow night at cecil maryland.maybe i will not spin. i want to call broc about the benifits of a drag shock vs stock and et with what i got. there was a 08 busa +7 got a 1.42 60ft and ran a 9.07 to my 9.51. i did the 60ft math and i would be around 9.12 with a 1.42 60ft. i think that guy was the only guy there not blowing smoke up my ass cause his mph was bairly 150mph. that guy was doing his job. bigtime. i shook his hand.

Redrocket, you willing to offer some help and advice on getting my ECU prepped for tuning? I've tried contacting Ridgeracer through his email on his hacking board but no response. You have any good contact info for him?
Also, Sorry for the thread hijack.

what would you like him to do? do everything or just ask questions? there are good instructions for cutting the hole. you can do that your self. be slow with the wire brush taking off the black stuff. i used a rasor knife to score through the plastic. then shaved the stuff out carefully. then used the wire brush on my battery drill slow spinning to chew up the rest. i can try to tell RR to look at this thread if he has time but do want him to do the ribbon?

Well for the sake of simplicity, if he still had the cables I was going to get one from him. Making the hole to clear away for the connector, I don't have a problem with, but clearing out the solder and soldering the connector to the ecu does make me a little nervous.
