Any other good ideas on how to carry stuff around? I don't really want soft saddle bags cause they seem like they would move around alot, you know get stuck in the tire or something, my buddy actually had a tail bag go through his his rear tire.

How much stuff do you want to carry?
You can take the tray out from under the seat and it opens up quite a bit of room. I can keep the toolkit, a full rain suit, and a thick sweatshirt plus some assorted little things such as a disc lock under the seat at the same time.
Tankbags and tailbags are other options. The beetlebags are "different" looking, they are expensive, and they don't look like they hold all that much stuff. But if that's what you want, don't let us stop you.

Burnaby Kawi has a set instock.... I also saw the fully kitted Corbin 12 at laguna last summer.... my impression of the bags is this... the are not very nice looking... they also are pretty limited for touring purposes.. having ridden on many long haul tours, I can say this.... hard luggage's major drawback is that it generally has no "inner liner" or "inner bag" meaning that when you park your bike you have to empty your bags (ie at a hotel) every time you leave your machine... this would be easier to deal with if the saddlebags were a std squarish shape, but the beetle bags are just plain weird... I have a set of Chase Harper panniers.... This season I also purchased a set of JoeRocket panniers... (which are great... although could use some reinforcement here and there)... they are expandable, and can easily be removed from the bike when you leave it parked... both freek and kiwi also tried the joerocket setup this summer and were pleased...
I'm not sure what to say to you on this subject other than I simply dont feel that the Beetlebags provide an efficient solution for hauling crap on yer 12......
... also Dino is in Oregon, and has an excellent solution for increasing you trunk space (underseat) if you are so inclined...

Beetlbags
Well I have a set on my red 12. They are great. This summer I did a 10 day road trip and packed almost everything into the bags. They hold more than you might expect. I put most of my clothes in small stuff packs (from a camping gear outfitter) and took those into the hotel at night. They are secure (lockable) so you can leave your bike somewhere and not worry. You also don't have to worry about anything shifting around in the twisties. The load is carried close to the bike so you don't feel the weight. They are also very well made and sturdy. As to whether you like the look . . you mean you like the look of a sport bike covered in lumpy cloth baggage scratching the paint versus streamlined contoured plastic. . . I think the bags look unique! Most people who see them on my bike ask about them.
Just use them when you need them, you don't have to leave them on. They come off in less than 5 min. They are a bit pricy but compared to the cost of a carbon hugger they are pretty reasonable for what you get.

I got Joe Rocket side bags.. they look nice and dont move around much.
They don't scratch anything either.. and like anyone should care anyway.
Our bikes aren't worth shit anyway if we try and sell em.. I ride mine hard and don't care about little scratches here & there. It aint worth the stress.

Inner liner for Givi hard bag
I can't and won't tell you which bags are better to use. I just want you to know that you can have an inner bag to use on any "Monokey" Givi hard bag. Thi liner is called E63 and cost about $25 each.

I kind of agree with ZXRCY the beetle bags look kind of different(I don't really think in a bad way) but they seem like they would be so handy when commuting back and forth to work or whatever. It's cool to keep the bike as racey looking as possible but I also think it is O.K to be practical. With that, I still am not sure what I will do

Hey Koz, have you ever used a ventura pack? Seen one? How easy can the rack come off to make the bike look fairly stock again?

I have. You may want to consider the 5 star rack instead.
The Ventura is nice BUT, you will scratch bodywork with it! The 5star rack can handle a BIG duffle bag like the one from Tourmaster (waterproof, expandable) and NOT scratch bodywork and still have the rear compartment accessible.
