Another LP Muffler Hanger issue.... I've had my LP Titanium muffler hanger on the ole 12 for a couple months now, and yesterday it decides to break. Just like that, while out riding, stock muffler shaking like crazy.
Now my fellow riders refer to my bike as the "Zip-tie 12" cause some local fisherman at the river where it broke gave me some zip-ties to hold the muffler up until I could get home.
In the meantime, the passenger footpegs went back on. For those following along Backorder Phillips's drama with backordering of this item, then you know how long it takes to get a replacement.
Thus, I emailed LP with no luck. What can I do? The titanium has to be poor quality to break so easily, in the manner that it did. Is there anything else I can do to get a replacement or am I out of luck? Does anyone know anyone at LP that can help me out here?
For the love of the 12, is there someone other then LP who makes these? Or am I going to be forced to buy another one and will it break again.

ZHooligan bought two of them when his broke! I'm sticking with the CF hanger, it's never even hinted at having a problem.

I know a guy making some nice aluminum ones for $60. I couldnt wait on Dino anylonger (Sorry D)
Works well with all pipes. Only hinge is the bolt has to be mounted backwards on the Muzzy aluminum round muffler.
Shoot me an email for info.

Oh and LP sucks! They use the old trick of making one nice piece and photographing it for their cataloge. Then when they get enough orders to drive production costs down, they produce them. Hence their nickname Backorder Phillips.
I make an effort to NOT purchase any of the products they distribute.

I'm waiting for Dino to get another batch of the 'Dino' hangars. They are soooo pretty.

I persoanlly think that a cast iron hangor would be a better option. Afterall it won't wear out. No, I'll stay with my Ti hangor and pay the price. I would suspect my original Ti unit might have lasted longer had I not installed three different exhaust systems 50 friggin times at least.
As for LP and their quality I must laugh. What exactly does LP actually make? Nothing they are a catalog. Find us a different source and I would be there in a heart beat. And not to defend them, but I havn't found any other sources that are much better. Companies like Spencer Cycle, Muzzys and Snitz have significantly less inventory or items to sell and guess what, they don't always have what we want in stock and orders get lost etc. The fact is we belong to a very small minority. We are motorcyclists, and we own ZX 12's. It is amazing to me that there is as much available for us to buy for these bikes as there is.

the real attraction of dino's hanger above (besides the fact that it's beatiful) is that they are HAND MADE by a friend. he actually rough cuts them from billet then uses hand tools to finish them. incredible amount of work goes into those things. prolly not as light as the ti & cf hangers i'm sure, but worth it to me
but yeah, i wouldn't hold my breath. there's a bit of a line & supply is VERY exclusive.

Well put it this way. I had the chance to buy one of the original "12" produced. I was $5 shy. I regret that mistake ever since then....approximately 2yrs ago...lol
Shit, they're worth $100 just for the "craftsmanship"!!
