ZX12R cam timing
Can cam timing be checked/adjusted with the motor in the frame?

Yes you can, it helps to remove the ram air tube to get to the exhaust side. If you ever pull the cams to adjusts the valves, drill you some holes in the cam cap to get a straighter shot to the outside buckets of the number #1 cyclinder.
