I made the mistake of overfilling with oil

(didn't check the manual)and had the same problem, correct oil change and muzzy springs solved my problem so far for 7000 miles.

The clutches usually show themselves under a load. Seldom do they slip in the low gears to start with. Good way to check a clutch in a car or a bike is throw the unit in top gear at a low speed on flat ground oe even a slight rise, and hit the gas. If the clustch is bad the rpms will climb noticeably faster then the speed! So at the end of the drag strip with the bike in 4th or 5th is where you'll get the first real sign of the clutch going away. Thats why on the dyno running along at 3500 to 4000 rpm in 5th gear it is pretty obvious when you gag the throttle and the bike starts reving instead of accelerating.
