Can't find neutral??

Just got my 02 ZX12R, can't hit neutral unless I am at a complete stop. I have never had this prob on the other bikes, usually I can hit get there during a rolling stop.

Is this normal, did they do this for some 'safety' reason. It is rather annoying.

Thanks,
Danny

It's part of the kaw's 'positive neutral' design.

Not one of my favorite Kawasaki ideas.

I had the same problem about not being able to get to neutral until I was at a full stop. I eventually got used to the light tap that is necessary to find it while moving.

Give it a couple weeks. YOu'll get it.

Then I don't know what to tell you. I've only had mine since June, and I have no problem finding neutral on the roll.

Ive noticed people who run alot of play in there clutch lever have more problems getting to neutral. You might try adjusting the free play in your lever in & out to see if it helps.

Is there anything else I can do to make adjustments to ease the thumping when I shift into gears while riding?

It is nice to coast up to a red light, kick it into neutral prior to coming to a stop. I have done it for years. Especially helpful on the freeway in stop and go stuff. Unless you have popeye forearms!
