2004 zx12r 185mph governer
Been looking around for one of those boxes that removes the bikes governor and I noticed most of the stuff out is usually for 2001-2003 (2000 there is none) well what about the 2004-2005 bikes????

You can also send your ecu to Sal@Ace. he can derestrict it and change other variables, such as timing and max RPM, for about the same price. Just got mine back last week.

The Bonneville box does not work for the 04-05. Nor can the ECU's for those bikes be reflashed, as far as I know.

Correct Shane.
The 04-05's use a 32-bit ecu instead of the 16-bit ecu found in all other years. The 32-bit ecu IS flashable, but a donor ecu would be needed for "hacking".
So far, nobody has given up a sacrificial 04-05 ecu for dismemberment (Yes, the first ecu will be destroyed in order to gain the ability to reflash others)
The Bonn box only works on the 16-bit ecu's..... the 04-05's require a SPEEDO HEALER to bypass the limiter from what I've been told. Only bad part is that your speedo will be "off" since you need to set it so that the ECU thinks you're traveling slower than 185mph when actually going over 185mph.

I installed a Niko-G Pack on my 05 ZX12R and it works great. The only thing that sucks is nobody in the states seems to have one so I had to order mine from the UK. It's actually about $50.00 cheaper from the UK and that's including shipping.

The 04 ZX12 (1427cc) that Rick built that went 203.6 mph at Maxton
I believe he had the speedo healer in it and turned it down to go over 200 (or 186 actually). I believe you can disconnect the speedo and make a pass but that afterwards the FI light comes on.

theres a way to make your own bypass.. i think RR originally came up with it? using .. i wanna say the tach signal and a voltage-shifting circuit to match the signal voltages (from 5 to 12V).. looked uber simple..
