Voz...putting a sprocket on the zx12r is very easy to do, you need a 27mm socket and air(gun)....a smaller sprocket (up front) makes your bike quicker for only 17 to 23 dollars (cost of sprocket)...you're from n.c., what part?...me raleigh...had local kaw shop place my block off plates on and it seems to have improved my gas mileage.

Kawasaki-Suzuki of Durham (1 hr labor to install) don't let anybody around this area touch your bike except for Dave at kawasaki-suzuki of durham....I ordered my sprocket and block-off plates from Muzzys...cost about 55.00 all together...Muzzys offers free shipping on all orders over fifty dollars..i know the guys hear say you can use the stock chain with a 16t, but i just don't trust it...plus i think a 16t may wear your chain alot faster...my two cents..
P.S. don't ever let kawasaki of raleigh (downtown) touch your bike for anything they screwed up my 2000 zx9r and i ended up having to take it to dave to fix there screw-up

Well, i have already told you what to do,,,,,try NOSEY and HARDHEADED!!! If you are just talking, then please stop.....i have had my zx12 since the first week that they were out!!! Why don't you try doing some more reading and then ask!!!
Concerning the chain issue, Moodyblue you really don't know what you are talking about!!! Since you are not using a 16t, I bet you are slow though,,,,,,,,,

First let me start... I WONT WASTE MY TIME WITH YA..
Moody... I also use Kaw of Durham...Tc and Adam are mad kewl... Hate that place in raleigh... I ordered my 17t today a 2000 ZX-11d front sprocket... I heard you can use same chain no adding or deleting links, someone please confirm this... Also ordered a Yellow box...but will have to find someone with a GPS in the NC area to sync it correctly... Next week a when i get a little more change will order my BMC street filters and muzzy block off... and hopefully take it to goldsboro for a custom map... I also had a 2000 zx9 which got stolen at MB this year.. You need to go to the Dunn-Benson track on a thursday.....

Do I understyand what was said above? If you don't have a 16 tooth front sprocket your slow?
The comment about the 16 being worse on the chain than a 17 is corect. It is also harder on the chain slider. The Factory teams and other racing folks try to use the biggest front sprocket possible. The chain spins easier and it lifts the chain up off the swing arm.
I personally run a 1361 with NOS and frankly my bike does fine with a 17. But then I must be slow!

Since putting the NOS on I have not made it to the track. Scheduled to do so next weekend. My best run without bars, no strap, not lowered, no lock up clutch, just line up and run so to speak is a 10.12. I am not any kind of a serious drag racer, I am however pretty serious about road racing and have put down many a darkie out the corners at Pacific Raceway having fun. I have made a total of 11 passes on my 12. While doing this I have put a similar number of passes on my GSXR1000, my Aprilia Mille R, my RC51, VTR Superhawk and my @002 1800 Goldwing. A wide vareity of different bikes! I did cut a 9.93 on Swfts 12 with wheelie bars in the middle of all of this!
I intend to get serious next season.
My best 60 foot time ever was a 1.49. Unfortunately I proceeded to wheelie and have a gigle the rest of the way. My 60's are usually in the 1.65 to 1.89 zone.

According to Madmike the 1/8 mile is a true test and definitely makes it hard for sandbaggers. I have found that I can run the dial number but my damn reaction time is at best inconsistant! I have been the runner up twice by running within a hundreth of my dial and losing because of my damn reaction time

Zhooligan,,,,,facts are the facts, YOU are slow!
Secondly, "quote: it lifts the chain off the swingarm...." The sprocket is not the problem if your chain is rubbing the swingarm, you need to tighten the chain! duh!!!!! (Slow twice) That is a perfect example of statements that sound intelligent and statements that seems to be from expert experience. Whew, that is scary!!! I hope you are not the mechanic for you race team!!!
Thirdly, Moodyblue we have way to many Dumbass's on this site that have "tenure" that really don't know what they are talking about in the real world. Everyone is free to do whatever they want and say what they want. But having been on this board and all the boards since the beggining, "POSERS" have a certain profile. I recommended more reading, and yes I challenged your statement about a 16t when you know you are guessing. You haven't even had one on your bike. I already stated that you didn't need anything for a 16t or 17t!!! Matter of fact if i though you guys were serious i would give you all the combinations that work with the same chain length. Negative,,,,,,,hahaha Not having time for foolishness is a better description. You are defensive and insecure cause i called you out concerning your baseless statement and non-logical conclusion. If you are using a 17t and I am using a 16t with all things being equal, the 16t will be quicker to redline. That is not even personal, but you and Zhooligan took it personally,,,,the problem is with you. Hate the message not the messenger, so Moodyblue I ask YOU to be more positive and use your mind to "THINK" rather than "REACT", that is the problem in this world....
Vozizm, hmmmm,,,,,,, a 6.5 in the 1/8 with a 18/46 combo!!! Very good, what was your mph?!?! You are faster than Zhooligan and Moodyblue already.....!!! LOLOLOLOL

I would take that 500 and go to the local casino double it and then you can buy the Muzzy stealth NOS Kit!! and if you loose it then oh well you can play the lotto...
Mad Mike
and RA dude no reason to dog some one who is going out and playing even if they are slower then you. ZHooligan is a cool dude, and your right Z it is very, very hard to sandbag in an 1/8th... my best stock motor pass was a 6.17... I believe long time ago... I was running 6.25's today but that is with an arm. but me and bike weigh 745.... and if anyone want's to have fun and race you can pit next to me any day.. and if your an Im a Fast Guy and your not then your just a Ass.. so stay home and type!
