2000 motor in a 04 bike

Anyone know if a 2000 12 engine will bolt into a 04 frame. If so what abot electronics hooh ups, ecu and such??

yes, engine fits !!! the top engine brackets are different !!!!

00 engine has -- one left and one at the right side !!

04 engine has -- one in the middle of the engine !!

you can --

1.) change the cylinder head ??? switch the 04 head on the 00 bottom ??

2.) you modifie the 00 head -- that you can mount the 04 bracket

and you need all your 04 electronic parts !!!!

If you don't change the head You need to
1. change the exhaust cam to use the 2004
or
2. move the pickup on 2000 exhaust cam to match the 2004 pickup.

Pickup location on the exhaust cam must match the expected location for the ECU year model, which changed often.
