Sinking more money into an '01.....???
All things being equal - there are some things I would like to do to the bike (stuff I'd like to purchase for it).
However, it's not a perfect world and I'm getting to the point where I wonder if it's worth it to put anymore money into the thing...
The '00's and '01's are quickly loosing resale value (as do all sport bikes - but the 12's seem to be loosing it quicker). The '00's and '01's didn't fare to well in the bike mags/rags and I believe that makes matters worse.
The '03's will be coming out soon and that will effectively make the '01 a two year old bike, even though I bought it new only a year ago. So in a year or two it will be an old has been...
I still love the bike though...
Taking the above into consideration... it sort of takes the motivation out of buying new toys/stuff for the bike....
There are times I think I should sell it next year and get a new one, or perhaps the year after......
Anybody else think the same thing at times?

I agree, if finances permit trade for a new one every 2-3 years.

If your happy with the bike and don't really want to sell it, then it's cheaper to put a few bucks in the one you have to make it look like you want it too. That's my plan. I also have a "one year old" 01. I've got about $2000 worth of stuff picked out for it.
Good luck

Being unemployed I dont' have a choice. I must keep my 00'. (can't sell it for anything near what its worth, I tried!) The only part I'm unhappy with is the insurance rates, stock suspension, & the FI high rpm glitch.
