Motorcycle Shipping Recommendations ??

I have a friend that needs to ship a bike across the US. Anyone have any experience with a shipping company ?

Thanks,

Dave

I dont know of any. Just an idea though...maybe look on eBay and see who sells a lot and email them asking them who they ship with and how are they. Just a thought though.

A few years ago I shipped an 83 gs1100e from SanDiego CA. To Hartford CT.

It took 4 days and cost $260. I got a crate from a Harley dealer (they throw them out) and used it for shipping the GS.

The company I used was Air Forward. They are an air forwarding company. There are many air forwarding companies around. Look on the net. I suggest using 1/4" plywood in place of the cardboard covering on the shipping crate. Also paint on it "do not stack" on every side and on top.

For more info email me... JGilnack@earthlink.net

Got beat on the idea, but I would go to the Kawasaki Dealer or what ever brand bike it is and ask to be there when they open up a crate containing my bike! This way, you see what they did and how they did it and take away the crate!! They come pretty much assembled now days! Drain "Everything" Run the engine out of fuel! You do not want a fire to claim your bike!

FowardAir requires you to use 3/4 plywood which will add to the cost of shipping. I believe they only do terminal to terminal.

Crazybill on LABUSAS just had a bike shipped cross country. You might email him. runs8sontwowheels@aol.com
or ping him at Labusas
