a shop in NC/SC to avoid

place in north carolina/south carolina called Britt Motorsports. they suck.

"The name of the shop is "BRITT MOTORSPORTS" they have a dealer here in 2301 LeJeune Blvd Jacksonville, NC another one; 6789 Market Street Wilmington, NC and one Hwy 17 N. Myrtle Beach, SC. "

end of story. dont use them ESPECIALLY for mechanical.

here is the kind of BS they pull. if it happened once, it can happen many times.

please get the word out, NOTHING worse than a dealer that cannot be trusted to tighten 6 bolts correctly, then try to blame it on a bad clutch and attempt to extort a LOT more money from them.

Unfortunately, for the most part motorcycle dealers make car dealers look like saints. You buy a Honda car or for that matter a Suzuki car you get pretty damn good service and treatment by the dealer. Warranty work is handled, your fixed and on your way. Try that with your Honda or Suzuki motorcycle and they tell you to go @#$%^ yourself. The same seems to apply for the other manufactures.

The only time I see it different is when you have a long history with the dealer. I get good service with mine, things are serviced and fixed without much of a problem. Of course I have purchased 35 bikes from the same dealer over the past twenty years! And zillions of dollars in parts and accessories.

I had a different experience with Britt Motorsports

My engine blew up on my 12 and they did me right. It did take quite awhile but they honored the factory extended warranty. They were pretty good to me and I was completely satisfied with their service.I went to the one in wilmington. If that engine was not right you can bet I would have blown that bitch up a long time ago.

well, i know ther eis no consistancy to dealers, THAT much i can vouch for, i personally hate that worse than just a bad dealer overall

i despise when i talk good about a dealer to a friend, who then gets shafted or treated poorly.

i know that there are bound to be satisfied customers of britt motorsports, as evidenced by the 2 replies here so far. however it just is ridiculous that they can afford to, or are too lazy and therefore, allow crappy customer service to exist. (is that grammatically correct? hehe oh well)

in no way do i think i will stop anyone from shopping there, but i DO consider it proper to warn others of the piss-poor customer service they have displayed.

even if it means someone will do a double check on something, just to make sure, and perhaps this is a one time foulup. but to withhold info from the factory rep, and to persist in demanding more money to fix what should have been a fairly easy job gone bad, is really crappy.

on this thought, maybe i will have that guy contact the person who OWNS that string of dealerships, maybe he/she can straighten them out ;P

Do most of you stay in Wilmington? I will not buy another motorcycle from them.
