Finally a chance to work on my bike
Took some time today to get things done had to run the valves, change the oil, replace the chain, install new tires, new brake pads, etc. If anyone remembers I and others had dirt in the airbox and I sealed around the aluminum inspection plates. Well after about 8000 miles the airbox is CLEAN, those K&Ns WORK, the back looks like I just put them in and the fronts are packed with dirt. Damn that chain was stretched. I got to it before it killed the sprockets. Hopefully the new chain will be strong, it is a DID50ZVM although it is not gold. Just talking in case anyone is interested.

Ted , I remember the air box mess....had that black, gritty shit all over the place. Put the K&N's in, sealed like you,plugged off the hole where the c.c. breather hose came in,....and voila!!!! not a speck -o-dirt about 7,000 miles later!!! btw, you din't git that purty, new garage floor all yucky did ya'?

Oh man, the tire changing slime made a mess!!! But I got out the mop... That floor paint is good stuff. Gotta be careful of scratching it though.
Why did you plug off the CC breather? To not pressurize the the CC? Or was it a dirt thing??

I plugged the 90 degree tube that goes into the airbox from the crankcase.that's where all the mung was coming from. At the risk of being flamed by greenies,....my cranckase breather hose has been modified into a quasi-automatic chain oiler.(ducking)
