04/05 12's Have Immobilizer System?
Hey fella's...........do the U.S. spec 2004/2005 ZX12R's have the immobilizer system?

It is a system where the Ignition Key has an RFID (radio frequency ID) tag in it. When ever you turn on the ignition the ECU asks the key for a number. If the number is wrong the ECU refuses to start the bike.
It is a real pain in the ass if you lose your keys as you have to have the ECU reprogrammed by the dealer to use the replacement keys.
I'm pretty none of the US market ZX-12s ever had this.
However I do know that the '00-'03 ZX-12s have a resistor in the ignition lock that feeds a voltage to the ECU that must be present for the bike to run. This prevents you from just yanking the plug off the ignition switch and hot wiring the bike. ( unless of course you have a resistor with a couple of clip leads on each end.)
