You got me by a year, but I started three years sooner for what ever thats worth. You think back to what we started riding on, the absolute lack of safety equipment and somehow we survived!!
My first bike was a 1964 Yamaha 80. It was red and damn fast at least it sure in hell seemed that way! Then came my 160 Honda (made it into a dirt bike!). By then I was striken for life!!

quote: Vanson Technical two piece. Since I'm such a tall, lanky MF I had to have them both custom tweaked.
I had a reflective patch sewn on the sleeves. They are black and silver. Much nicer than yellow. Doesn't cost much more considering the purchase price.
Me also being a big MF'er, had to have a custom two piece made. They are 2 years old, have been back 3 times for alterations (they can't get it right for some reason), & now the front zipper is falling apart; very difficult to get fastened.
I'm getting tired of dealing with them; although the quality of the leather seems good. They have not been tested (knock on wood.)

I started riding on one of those also it belonged to a friend, but the first bike that belonged to me was a 1967 Twin jet 100 (YL1E) Electric Blue. Talk about fast!!! From the first day I rode on the street I wore a helmet, in 1970ish when the first Bell Stars came out (with the flip shield) I got one. It just doesn't feel right riding without the best helmet money can buy. I could never bring myself to ride without a good jacket and gloves either since day one.

What I have -Joe Rocket
What I want -A custom suit by Helimot.
What's the difference?
Helimot suit makes the Joe Rocket Gear look like your a squid in flipflops + a T-shirt.
It's just a matter of $$$
I got the best of what was available at the time, in my area from my local deelers.
Then I went on a road trip, met Helimot, say his work and said, "Oh... that's what real gear looks like..."

I have Sidi boots - I bought them after I saw them save Worm-holes feet, when he crashed on the way to Laguna.

...I think Joe Rocket leathers are great off-the-rack gear....it worked on my crash...looks/feels more substantial than my Fieldshears...I wonder....does Hayden wear off-the-racks w/custom logos, or is his custom fitted to him?...are the diffs in the fit and not the materials?...if its in the custom logos/fit only, then I would think that whatever is good for Nicky is certainly good for a street rider, no?...sure, custom-fit is the ultimate way to go if you have the cash...but most of us would do well with some high-end off-the-rack stuff....I wouldn't equate it to squid gear....imho...and I know, I know, princess...you've had shot experience with the zipper...but I've had good luck with mine....like my PC3R....good call on the boots, tho
