What happens when a PSM crashes

I had a crash a while back. 171mph in the braking zone. My own fault. too much front brake over a known bumpy area.

The bike slid on one side into the sand pit. I rolled over on the track just in time to see it burst into flames!

I always wear the best safety gear and that's why I limped away alive.

Lucky me. And No, I am not pretty.

Some Pics.

So what happened to your foot? Nice psycho shot of you bending a steel bar, would of looked more impressive trying to bend it over your head.

It's all fixed and looking fantastic agian. It's the one with the red paint work now. Going back to green for next season. Our K sponsors weren't happy with red!

aliveagain,

I dislocated my ankle, broke two ribs, had sever concusion. My head hit the wall twice. That was all. Very very lucky. The steel bar is the handle bar!

KZScott,

The sidewinder is a one of. All ti and extremely light. No baffle. The cone controls the right exhaust speed. She screams nice and loud at 13,200rpm. It's a great noise.

entropy,

It was at a national PSM round and the fire and rescue crew where there real quick. It felt like I hadn't stopped rolling and they were there. Great people.

Cheers all, hope you like the pics.

Dave.

13200 rpm on a 1427?? is there anything besides the ecu that needs to be upgraded from a "normal" 1427 to rev that high? or do you just have to tear it apart a lot more often to replace wear items?
oh and yeah, more umbrella girls plz!

KZScott,

It's 1498cc. It's as big as it can go. The rob bolts had to be rounded and the case slightly shaved to allow the rods to miss!

It is running a MSD digitial 4 ingnition with racepak data logger.

Valve springs, piston rings and bearings are replaced after every outing. If not, then the valves go. They are $4000AU a set!

If we hit the revliniter hard, it's valves and valve springs regardless.

Thanks for the interest.

And Yes, there will be more girls!!

I will post another thread and show the bike undressed and the motor in pieces. the head is a work of art.

KZScott,

87mm pistons. Never heard of the 1508. 88mm pistons. I recon the walls on the bore would be transparent!!
