OVER 200 H.P.!!!! I finally was able to complete the mapping on my 1270.
I do not have the ability to post a graph, but I can indicate some of the power by #'s.
Peak power was 202.5 at 10,500 rpm.
Power at rev. limit ...196.
Peak torque....111.5 at 7,400 rpm.
Torque at rev. limit...91 ft/lb.
Over 100 ft./lbs from 6,400 - 10,250.
Over 80 ft./lbs at 4000, over 90 by 5000.
160 hp. by 8000, and an awesome 42 hp rise from 6700 rpm to 7500 rpm.
Breaks 100 hp by 5500.
Breaks 60 ft./lbs. by 2500.
We did this out here in Phoenix on Sat. and did not have very good air. 29.67 in. at 110 deg. F
We are very happy with the results!!

What did the seat-of-the-pants dyno indicate?? With those numbers I'd think that the bike would realy be a challenge. How is the on-off throttle response?? Were you able to improve that characteristic with the tuning??? BTW, congrats on your accomplishment!!

W/ the dyno I was on we were able to set the CO at a happy 3.00 +/.25
This setting is what the engine really liked, it smoothed out so nice!
This engine REALLY loves GAS!! We got a low as 12.5 to 1 to make peak power under load. This dyno allows you to meashure power while the eddie break is on!
The way it pulls on the street is shocking to say the least, SMOOOOTH, on-off is seamless and the power build is like having a supercharger!
It will be wonderfull to run a taller gear in the tight canyon roads, keep the R's down and just torque it!
Full exploration will occur next weekend, new skins going on as we speak.

200 "sea level, 75deg." H.P. Psycho should know that his Horsepower figure is "corrected" to Sea level, 70 to 75 deg. air temp., among other factors that are programmed in the software, so that when one lives in places like Phoenix or similarly hellish locations in this beautiful country, one doesn't become heartbroken over the fact that your engine's output may be down as much as 20% @ 4000ft., and 114 deg. ambient air temp.
Psycho...buddy, you have a standing invitation to come to L.A. and enjoy your "true 202HP"...anytime.
Your friend.

Lord oh lord.......All dyno's correct to 29.90 in. @ 59 deg. F. This allows for apples to apples when comparing #'s. This DOES NOT compensate for overall air QUALITY. Rich Oxygen air will make more power than poor oxygen air at the same temperature and barometeric pressure.
Your 20% # is a bit inflated also..................It is more like 10%!
BTW, Our elevation out here is 1500 ft.
Payson is at 4000 ft.!!

i know when i ride a local road that goes to about 5000ft, i lose so much power i can just BARELY powerwheelie the thing. really gotta give it a bit a bounce & yank hard on the bars. it's a really disheartening feeling to realize uv lose so much power. i swear, the first time i noticed it on that road, i damn near cried
Great numbers! With that kind of power, do you think the 1361 is worth the extra $$$?
I need to have my 12 rebuilt and am looking to put all the pieces together--I don't need the cylinder block since I am going to have mine repaired, bored, and replated (thanks Swft for Millenium contact info!). I just need to decide if stroke is worth it (cases have to be split anyway--they are ruined and crank needs repaired or replaced).
Any insights you have on 1270/1361 would be nice--reliability, fuel mileage (just to know how far from a station I can get!), balance, etc.

1361 Will definately make awesome TORQUE!! The major thing w/ it is the increased Piston Speed. I would run aftermarket rods for that beast.
Stock rods are more than enough for the 1270.
I also heard #'s like 220 h.p. on the 1361.

It is worth the extra dollars but the HP #'s to expect, you would be much WISER to gauge Entropy and his numbers than expect Psycho's numbers. Unless!!! You live near Psycho and use his tuner and the same dyno......this is NO JOKE!!!

Over 200 horse out of a 1270 and 220 out of a 1361? 5% increase in displacement and 25% increase in horsepower over stock. Wow! There must a few hundred 1270 and 1361 owners that are really dissapointed with the power increases they have seen with the same mods. Probably got that 202.5 HP on pump gas too all bet. It's even more impressive that that kind of power is there at 110 degrees. Wow...

Yes, pump fuel (Cheveron 91), Remember, all dyno's correct to sea level conditions, BUT to do this in a hot environment w/ poor OXYGEN content was impressive. Talked w/ John Hoover at Big K and he said that Chip Ellis is getting simular #'s out of his 1270 Pro-Star Drag Bike.
If my #'s don't jive, my power increase does.....I'm up 30 h.p. from a stocker w/ a pipe and pcIII,105/100 and up 20 ft.lbs too boot!

Thirty horsepower is pretty consistant with the gains I seen.

i wonder if KMI was dumb enough to map the ECU on a dyno in a wind tunnel...that would be stupid especially when you can just use a furnace blower!!!

A wind tunnel is the only way to simulate ram air on a dyno.
Leaf blowers and compressed air etc. will show differences but they are meaningless and useless numbers. You have no way of controling the conditions.
A dyno in a wind tunnel is the only way to get repeatable and predictable numbers.
The MAP sensor will compensate for positive AND negative manifold pressure (ram air)changes. I've seen this with the 02 sensor on the road.
Believe it or not the bigger factor in keeping the correct a/f ratio on the road is Humidity. On humid days the o2 sensor will read richer than dry days.
Its about 2 bars on the Halmeter AF-30.
