Z1000 made the cover of Cycle World Roadburner article. Just fluff, no detalis, but nice to see something on the '03 bikes.

Cool Bike Other than the fucked up looking exhaust I think it's a cool bike. Definitely different than the ZRX for sure.
How's it supposed to perform? I read somewhere about a claimed 140hp, pretty sure that'd be at the crankshaft. If that number is valid it should be somewhere in the ballpark with the FZ1 as far as bhp is concerned.
I think another cool bike that should be a big hit is gonna be the Suzuki SV1000s. I like the look of it and it is supposed to weigh somewhere around 415 lbs. I don't know what the power is supposed to be like, but it is the old TL1000 mill( I think??) so it should be decent. I'd like to ride one and see what it was all about.

Dunno what the power output on the Z1000 is gonna be, but you can be certain that tuners will be all over it ASAP. I would prolly liken it to a FZ1, except Kaw didn't scrimp on the suspension or brakes.
The SV1000S is pretty cool, but I dunno bout the weight. That TL1000 mill (yes, that's the motor in the SV1000) is a heavy beast! Every pick up a TL1000R off it's sidestand and walk it around? Heavy heavy feel to it... Unless there's some really outstanding feature about the SV1000/S, I can't see it really being all that much different from all the Honda SuperHawks gathering dust in showrooms right now.

Yep, 116 - 120 hp pretty easy with the TL motor. Don't get me wrong, it's a rompy stompy vtwin. I liked the power better than the RC51.

With the SV1000, are they going to discontinue the TL? I dont see any reason to have two model V-twin 1000cc motos, but that's just my thought.

Umm...They have the V-strom. That also uses the TL1000 motor. The SV1000 is prolly gonna sell better than the TL-S did, so it fills the shoes of that discontinued model.

I have to agree! Even the "Worlds Ugliest Muzzy" is an improvement.
