ok guys heres the story i want to build a pipe for my bike ....12r a1 ... i have built them before for my dirttrack sidecar but want a set for the road . what i would like to know is the volume of each header and length etc is it better to have it 4 -2 -1 or 4-1 . length of collecter ?. it was pretty easy for dirt track short headers only a 1/4 mile oval track full noise in 2nd .. i have a pc3r , k&n , no kleen , straight can, cat removed .can you help with some ideas ... i live in nz so after market items are pricey at the moment nz dollar is crap i want to use the bike on the road and occational strips and trake days

You are asking a LOT! The People that build the Pipes spend a Ton in time, testing and money to come up with the answers. The stock system is a 4-2-1 note the Splitter plate in the middle of the tube before the Muffler is the 2 section! The 4-2-1 must be the best design because as difficult as it is, everyone is now making a 4-2-1 Sidewinder where they ALL Made 4-1 prior to Hindle / Brock Davidson making the 1st 4-2-1
The longer the 2 section the more help in the midrange

sweet thanks , didn't mean to ask the earth lol . so maybe i might just mod the standard pipe .i have to much time on my hands ....
