I'm almost ready for summer trip!
Hello!
In last two week I've prepared my bike for the summertrip from Finland to south of Spain, Malaga. Looking about 8000-9000km (5-6k miles) in two weeks! So my near future sees live on the fast lane of autobahn and lot of corners at the Alps and also some in Pyrennees :-)
In last two weeks I've prepared my bike for the summer with a little bit more maintenance as usual spring. As my bike is at 104k km (65k miles) I've this year changed the front fork oils, front brake bads, plugs, oils and filter, coolant, chain and sprockets and a set of new Pirelli Diablos. I also checked the valve clearances and throttle bodies sync plus cleaned the BMC airfilters. So my bike is ready for the trip - or so I thought untill last night!
Yesterday I noticed that thre was cooland coming near water pump!!! What the fuck was my first though as my ferry leaves Finland this Thursday - so there wasn't any time for back order! But today everything looks good as the dealer had the parts (mechanical seal, oil seal, cover casket) handy so they'll be at my place tomorrow! So I have still time to do shakedown test befor heading to the Road!
It's funny that if something is going to be broken it always happens when there is lack of time! And by the way if someone has any pointers on the waterpump repair I'm all ears...
So after all the bike looks like new and is just waiting to get the motor going - and I'm too as last Year I had little time to ride because of my newborn baby.

Hows the weather in finland this time of year ? My wife is going there on buisness in two weeks. Good luck on your trip. Sounds like allot of fun.

The wetter is now quite nice +20-25 (68-75F)degrees celsius and mostly sunny but when in Finland You never know more than couple of days. It can be anything from 10 to 30 degrees C (50-86F) and very wet or very sunn!. Where is she coming and what company does she present? I could give couple of pointers what to visit if she does have any spare time.

well we live on the east coast of canada and we have a ferry system here that goes from nova scotia to newfoundland she works for marine atlantic and the have purchaced a ferry from some where there. I think its helsinki that where shes going. Shes there to look over the ferry before it comes over. I think she will be there about two weeks.
