I started with gel gloves but after awhile it wasn't even an issue.

Several things, #1, get 2 pair of the Gel Race Grips! Use the Left side Grip on BOTH SIdes of the bike. The throttle is thinner and you have to hold on to that one and it will help! #2, do you have the STOCK Bar weight ends or some aftermarket? If you have stock go to a bigger weight like the Old Kawasaki Concourse. Last, loosen the rear engine mounts and make sure the spacer mounts are TIGHT then tighten everything up again!

Like I posted some where else I use 2 pair and use the Left side on Both sides because the Left side is thicker and you MUST hold on the the Throttle so make it have more insulation

i did a few things that helped, we usually ride a 300mi loop. 1. take 1 aspirin before ride, then around every 4 hrs, helps circulation, this works. 2. grip puppies-neoprene covers that slide over grips 3. throttle rocker, made one. 4. do this at your own risk, i have a 01 zx12r, don't know about other years, i removed the one throttle return spring under the pulley were the throttle cables connect to the throttle bodies, take off the nut and the pulley and theres a spring under it, remove spring and put back together, mine springs back just fine without it, if yours doesn't put spring back on , much easier throttle pull, helped the right hand alot, i did this a year ago and never had any problems, the only thing is you have to get used to the lighter pull, especially in first gear (she can turn into a bucking bronco). i bought a set of heli bars and never installed them, all this seemed to work.
if you can't flap your elbows like a bird flapping its wings, you're putting too much weight on your arms and not enough on your abdomen
A relaxed grip on the bar is the best way to clear the numbness. Because even with heavy bar-ends and gel gloves, a tight grip will just force the vibration into your bones.

Helibars were one of the best investments I ever made with my 12. It made a HUGE difference to me. See if you can pick up a used set, Lobo? You won't be disappointed.

+10 I love my heli bars. I bought a set here used for $100. I've made all day rides and no problems, getting close to 50 yo and have my share of elbow/shoulder injuries.
Order the heli bars, it takes 2 hours to install (OK i'm fucking slow :P )
