dyno results a little history
Oct 2001: 1361 vanilla installation
Dec 2001: 193-4 SAE hp after DJ250 tuning session, cool & dry
April 2001: 187SAE hp; REAL hot & humid
Last week
finished install & breakin miles
Lees cams, 1375 billet crank, cams at 107/110
Dyno (same as last Dec) over 100 degrees in dyno room, very humid
1st set, 3 pulls for reference: 191SAE
mapped 80&100%, 6000rpm up at 13:1, 194hp, (tried 12.8, 13.4)
Ign adv was set at 5 degrees, tried it at 2 degrees, lost 2 hp (100% throttle)
put in Nutec, 204hp. NOTE, the AF did not lean out, required no addition of fuel to keep 13:1. Interesting, huh?
I expected a very peaky hp curve but what I got is almost flat from 9500 +/- to limiter.
On each set the hp would drop 1-2hp from 1st to 3rd pull, as the motor heated up. Jim was adamant about starting the set at head temp just under 190
If Y2k will look at the curves (got em all on disk) and comment on my cam settings I may have the builder go back in and experiment, but its running so strong, I may just save my coin and get back to the track and practice. My consistency still sucks.
I am going to the track tomorrow with the Nutec...

prolly 95%. I siphoned as much pump gas out as possible then put in about 3 gal Nutec Spec4. I am going to burn up my Spec 4 before trying 5. ____________

*nods* Sounds cool. My best results were with a 50/50 mix, but that was last year, ya know? Running 13.1:1, wondering what your cylinder temps are. Any trouble starting the bike hot?

50/50? hmmmmmmm... I never tried that
I definitely had problems starting the bike hot until I got a FBG battery. Tight fit in the battery vault, but it can be done. No problems now.

Y2K's the MAN!!!! Y2k,
I'll send them tomorrow from the office; we are a Mac family at home. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help.
BTW,
I followed some directions which were written by you 1.5 yr ago on making and installing the heat blanket. I had my doubts when I saw how big the blanket turned out and how small the space is under the airbox/frame, but sure as shit it worked fine.
You da MAN, Jim!!!!!!
