in helmet audio system...
i have a V1 and the stupid remote audio adapter mounted on an m-stand. i'm looking for an earplug or headphone to plug into the thing and that will fit under my helmet.
question is,
are there any helmet speaker systems that i can install under the pads in the helmet. something that i just just plug in and unplug easily, or must i use headphones or earplugs?
thanks guys,
jason

My Bel detector came with a small speaker designed to fit in the ear cavity. Maybe they sell them seperately.

dont really want a screamer yet, i'd like to try the headphone/earphone system. i tried some normal earphones last night and they worked great, but they are not meant to have a helmet slid on and off of them.
does anyone know of an earplug or headphones that can have a helmet easily slide on and off of them?
or even better an audio system that can be installed in the helmet itself?

Go to the next motorcycle show in your area and there should be someone there who can custome mold some to your ears. They are about $40 but worth it..

The custom molded earplugs with the headphone jack are quite a bit more spendy than $40. I bought a set at the Seattle show. Actually two sets, one without the earphones and one with.
But I still find putting them in my ears a pain in the rear! And I still can't believe the Valentine and the others don't address this market better.

Naw, your not the only one that cares, I assure you. Your just lucky that I'm always heading out the door when I check this thread. If that wasn't the case, you'd get one of my typical long posts explaining in (excessive) detail on how I did mine (with pics).
In a nutshell, I got a 6' RCA mono cord from Radio Shack. On on end, I put a headphone jack that is at a right angle. ran the cord behind the dash and towards the fusebox, following along all the wiring for the dash. The cord comes out at the front of the tank cover and left intake cover. Then I run it under my $6 Wal-Mart tank bag. The small "tank bag" is held on by using the back two allen screws of the fuse box cover and on the front part, I have a long ziptie that goes around the fuse cover.
Anyway, the cord comes out from the tang bag right at the gas cap and has a RCA female plug on it. I have the ChatterBox speaker velcro'ed in my Arai Quantum /f. The ear speaker wire come out about 12" from the helmet (adjustable) and has a RCA male plug on the end. Works fine. Stays plugged until I do something stupid like get of my bike and try to walk away. Then there's a gentle tug on my helmet as it upplugs itself and reminds me how much of an idiot I am.
On the "practical side", it's plenty loud and there's no mistaking what's going. The only reason I don't use a screamer is because too many small towns use X band to trigger some of their traffic lights and others will set up a K or Ka band transmitter (like under a bridge) to intentionally set of detectors. I'd just hate to be in some dinky town, stopped at their only light and have a screamer going off (and I'm fumbling to mute it)... while sitting next to the town's only cop!
