Atlanta Drag Racing!
It Rained, it rained and did I mention that it RAINED??
Finally on Sunday it got Better BUT not a BRIGHT Sun Shiny Day! The Raced until 10 PM (I think the Curfew and to be continued in ??Tennesee?? ALso they only used the 1/8 mile (Concrete) Part of the track!
Pierre Labuschagne (BEAR RACING) brought out his new ZX14 Pro STreet bike Built by Barry Henson at Velocity Racing. JP Bear's Son was flown over here to also work on the Bike
The First full trip down the track it ran a 5.03 in the 1/8 the second, 4.95 and the third trip 4.90 and 158 MPH. (About the top speed of the class!) The Best run was a 4.82 against Henson's Busa at 4.85 at 154 MPH. To see the Performance difference the Orient Express bikes Busa I think 5.30's and ZX14 5.4's and Rickey riding the Muzzy bike a string of 5.29's in the 130 to 140 Trap speeds.
When the bike is dialed in it will be shipped to SA where it will be raced by Jan who is Bear's Son that has 1 hand missing!
I left there at 10 PM and was here at 10 AM WORE OUT!
I have a "FEW" Pick of the Bike I need to send to either Fish or Freek to Post!

They were running in the 5.5 to 5.7 range and a real Quick Nos Bike ran 5.4
The Top Fuel Hardley ran a 4.7 but the Pro Modified ran 4.17 at 172 in the 8th!! I was Impressed!

That makes no sense......., 5.7s is stock motor NA times........
I think I saw a pic of that 14 over on psychobike......
They dont look like bikes anymore.......
I liked it better when you could not shove the dang noze underneath em.......
Granted, if my header was not there, I would have my front end lower .........
I was knocking on 5.7s this weekend, and it is not done yet, and I have the bracket set up in the muliti, so I am exited. Having the extra weight of coby's pan down low, helped out the handling some. I can now shift 2nd in the air, and it just keeps it up about half way to third and sits it down oh so smooth........., and my clutch stays SOOOO much cooler after a run with the extra oil in the cases........

that is very suprising, I have ran 5.90 all motor with a 1361...
I would think a serious high HP NOS bike could run in the 4's...

I think 9second Jen was headed over there as well after the Texas Mile.
Too bad SA is South Africa and not San Antonio!
Great to see Bear out running in the States!

NOX remember, Muzzy's Turbo ridden by RG was out of control and all he could get was a 5.29! Any lesser rider would have been in the 5.4's the 2 bikes of Orient Express were in the 5.3 and 5.4 and Both of them were turbo's The air had so much Humidity that the track was actually wet in the Asphalt and they could not even use that part of the track. It was Piss Poor Conditions and and McBride and a few others did not even bring out their bikes to ride! When Night time came you could see all of the cars getting Damp and remember this was run until 10 at night!
I Just spoke to Pierre who said he is very happy now because "I have the Quickest and Fastest ZX-14 on the Planet"! Who can argue with that statement?

Nope, the "fastest" on the planet belongs to XXX who ran 232mph at the TX Mile last October!
so he might be the quickest but not the fastest!

Fastest in the 1/8 Mile "So Far"! Also the Quickest in the 1/8 on a "Street" Tire "So Far"
Gary, remember they have the Alternate Landing site for the Space Shuttle where they do THEIR Land Speed Racing and run the Mile! I am sure they have plans to go there with their 14! The Turbo 12 ran 4 Km/H and did not set the record which is why they are not listed there! The 12 listed is the 200 Original NOS Bike

Yes sir, I remember. That is probably the best paved venue in the world......................but
it would still be cool if they would drop in just to show us how it's done.
Would be real cool if NASA would flip the bill for you to run in SA, just to make sure
the shuttle strip was in good working order.

The Truth is, Pierre loves this country and visiting here more than this country does!
Last year in New York they stole his Laptop, Cell Phone and 10 sets of SHort Velocity Stacks. This year the Hotel were we were staying wants to Remodel the Hotel at his expense and got REAL Nasty about it! Treated him like he was "ME" in Georgia! I guess him being from Africa was just close enough! The You can remember a few years ago where they tried everything they could think of to Disqualify his MUZZY built Turbo ZX12R to the point of PERSONAL Inspections by the head of ProStar. It got to the point that I had to film EVERYTHING at the Inspection to make sure they did not cheat him out of the race!
If you notice, they even stopped calling the Final Race the "World" Finals and now they are the National Finals so that Pierre will feel even LESS Welcome! SO how would you feel about coming over here after spending a Fortune to get here anbd treated like this?
He did get what I would call "Ethnic Courtesy" when he was stopped by the Sheriff doing 85 in a 55! I tried to explain to him that if that had been me, I would have needed Bail & Bond Money to get me out "IF" I was Lucky!

I do not know why but my thinking is the actual Racing is only in this country so it SHOULD be a National! If they raced all around the world like F-1 or the World Superbikes then it would be a World Final! Maybe they came to the reality of this!

The Super Street bike are 64" long and have to have 3" of ground clearance. Most were in the 5.30 to 5.50 range. The shootout bike were in the high 4's.
