Nekid 12

Hey Kids,

Here's another question from the parking lot. I just finished peeling all the stickers off my bike. A good heat gun is a wonderful thing. Yes, she just plain looks better nekid. I even gave her a good once over with some Lemon Pledge. (If y'all don't know about it, you best find out.) The only thing left for me to peel off are the 'KAWASAKI' letters on the tank. Has anyone tried peeling these letters off their bike with a heat gun? Do they come off as clean as the rest of the stickers, or should I expect to do some rubbing?

They come off with a heat gun. And clean the bike up nicely.

I took them off without a heat gun. THey're just puffy adhesive letters, and they come off very easily.

BTW, I took all my decals off yesterday, and I agree with you, it looks much cleaner. I had 2 different people on Palomar today ask me who did my "custom" paint job.

yep, I have the blue and gold '02. Hate the gold and stickers. Took all of the stickers off and it looked much better. I painted the gold over and now I have my black rims coming.

she'll look sweet! Pictures when I'm done.

Sometimes you have to wonder about the color combos the bike manufactures pick. The 12s have had some scarey combos that with a little change here and there suddenly not bad. The 2000 red 12 had red wheels. The red wheels were not the same color of the bike! Put black wheels on and it looks nice. The Blue looks good without the gold crap. Mellow out on the Gold and the black 12 looks good!

Wheels in any color other then black or polished look like crap. Buy a clue Kawasaki!!

Wahoo!!! Thanks for your help, guys. I peeled the lettering off the tank, and things are looking splendid. Plus, to make today a even better day, my stuff from FSD showed up in the mail today. Of course, now I gotta figure out how everything goes together. I got the undertail, the hugger, and the front fender. I was disappointed to find that I have to drill holes myself, but it doesn't look too bad. I just have to go out and get longer hardware to mount the front fender. It should looke pretty sweet when I'm done. I'm waiting for my clear tailight lens to come in before I start messing with the undertail though...

This is the first bike I've owned where I just wanna mess with the cosmetics because the enging is still way too badass for me.

Is the census around this forum that the 12 just looks better without stickers?

I have all mine on and it doesnt bother me too much. Kinda glad to show off what I'm riding.

And I dont think the blue rims look that bad with the blue 12, just my opinion though.

I have left the stickers on with the exception of the gas tank. In part because I thought the stickers were clear coated in the paint.

I kind of like people having to guess what the bike is.

you have any more pics of the bike? I'd like to see the lowers without the stickers. Also, I use dentatured alchhol to pull off stickers, rather unharmful. I was thinking about peeling them off my black/gold 12, this may clinch it.

I just finished mounting my FSD fron fender and hugger. Man, it does look slick. I'm still waiting until my clear tailight lens comes in before I install the undertail. I will post pix as soon as:

1. I figure out how to post pix.
2. I finish my undertail install.
3. I get my digital camera back.

I don't have a clue when that will happen.
