There is a test out there for every detector that makes it a winner. The Valentine is nice how it indicates the direction of the signal. I personally have two Valentines, Escort and passports 8500 and 7500 and the built in hidden Escort Unit that has sensors / transponders located at the front and rear of the vehicle. I use the built in units in both my Dodge 1 ton and Lincoln LS. I like them all.
Frankly, Valentine does not get anymore of my business because they refuse to put a headphone jack in or on it. I did have a cordless Bel but it came out of my tank bag at about 180. It failed the drop test!!

i'll be the first to admit that i despise V1 for forcing me into buying a seperate component so that i can plug in some form of audio awareness. they deserve long slow deaths for that alone. that being said, i was under the impression (perhaps falsely so) that V1 was by far the most superior product out there. i have a dodge too, but i dont go 150 regularly in it so radar detection is top priority on the 12r. anyone agree or disagree with that article?
