how to hang a helmet while riding!!
Just brought 02 zx12 last year. Lot of aftermarket parts. Not sure how to hang helmet on bike when going short distances. Bike does not have helmet hooks.

there are 2 cables under the seat,, i believe your supposed to use them,, unless the previous owner did away with them..

The cables are there, sorry for sounding completly dumb, but not sure how to use them. anyone no how???

yea there should be a little hook also that is built onto the sub frame,, all you do is run one of the cables thru the D ring on your helmet strap,, then hook the loop onto that hook on the subframe,, and slap the seat on and go!
you can either leave one loop of the cable where it is,,under one of the BIG allen bolts and then hook onto the hook ,, or run both loops to the hook all depends on your helmet design as to how tight or snug it will fit... go McGuyver on it!

use a helmet net. only cost about $5.00
don't risk your paint! JMO
I didn't like that arrangement on my 12 at all.

you should see the tail sections in my 01 and dads 00....GUTTED . Im picking up some sheet aluminum tomorrow (if it doesnt snow too hard) to get an undertail made up for his bike

are these cables also on the '04? previous owner might have removed them when he did the undertail.

Thanks Twista!!! cables work just fine. However have to put some type of rubber over my pass. foot pegs so it won't scratch my helmet

im guessing yes H2, they would be bolted right beside where the front seat bolts in in the back
