22348bCVC....
I go to help pick up his bike off of him, as he has crashed and is trapped under it, and he goes, "Carefull don't burn yourself on the exhaust..."
Speed150's exhaust hanger is pretty strong, as it is the part of the bike I used to pull the bike upright...
Yup, it is heavy....

hhhhhmmmmmmm.............

I have some doubts about going from an RC51 to a ZX-12. I know I'll enjoy the increase in torque and hp, the riding position will be better, but what about handling in the corners?

A Gixxer1000 is also at the top of my list cos I could get all of the above (minus the comfort) with less weight and I wouldn't give up handling. There's also a company that makes foot controls that are about an inch lower than the stock ones.

Thing is, I vowed to never own another Suzuki after having problems with the last one.

BIKE vs RIDER

...I will testify to this: Dino rides the 12 as most competent people ride 250s, 500s, or 600s (never mind 750s, 900s, 1000s, V-twins, and the like) or even better...I would venture to say that he even rides and glides the 12 better than most I've seen on ANY cc/style bike...the man has talent and savvy...and balls of titanium...what gets my attention is how can the lightest and skinniest rider in our group of 12R riders on the way to Laguna also be the fastest and smoothest of the group?...us big-ass 12R manly men outweighed him by at least 75 pounds up to 125 pounds...

I think TALENT, SKILL and SAVVY...you can have any bike you want, I've seen what a great rider can do an ANY bike...

big-boy ddpete...you need to get your kneepucks on, boy!...or you'll wear out your kneecaps...(y'guyz shoulda' seen him hang on Dino's tail as I squared off my corners post crash/repair rides through the redwoods after Laguna)

I still think 145hp with light weight is more to my liking than 175hp with an extra at least 100lbs of weight.

Now really Dino, what do you weigh? a buck fifty maybe?

Hey dirtybill, my GSXR1000 with a full Ti exhaust and few or minor mods weighs in full of gas at 417 pounds and puts out 154 hp. My ZX12 weighs in with just over 6.5 gallons of gas in the carbon tank 498 pounds and with the 1361 kit in it the hp is at 210. The 80 pounds does not seem so bad onsidering the 55 additional hp.

If I can remember correctly the 12 had better lap speeds/times then the RC51 and the TL in several comparo's with the same riders.

I've seen Zhooligan's bike for real a few times and you can see the Love between Man and Machine, when he looks at his bike.
