Guggenheim Las Vegas....

I just got back from 4 days in Las Vegas on buisness/pleasure for Mitsubishi (automotive). It was busy, fun, educational, and exhausting.
We stayed at the Balagio. What a place! Anyway, I got a chance to get over to the Guggenheim exhibit "The Art Of The Motorcycle". All I can say is WOW!
I actually got to CLOSELY inspect some fine historic motorcycles. Bikes that I'd only read about like the MV Agusta 750s, and the Laverda SFC, and the Vincent Black Shadow!!! These bikes were mile stones in motorcycle history. This was by far the greatest collection of motorcycles I have ever seen. Just un real to see these priceless bikes all in one place.
The show starts at the beginning of motorcycling with the first motorcycle ever produced with a steam engine. As well as the first Harleys and Indians etc.

I recomend to anyone that is going to Las Vegas to go and see this show of 100 motorcycles. You will never see this again after its disbanded.
The show was first put together in 1998 and displayed at the Guggenheim in NY, it then went to Chicago and then to Spain and is now in Las Vegas for the rest of 2002.

I saw this show when it was in Chicago, and it was Awesome!
If you love motorcycles, this show is a must see. You will likely never get the chance to see anything like this again.... ever.... anywhere.
I bought the book too, and it was well worth it. I just pulled it off the shelf to do a little reminiscing.
Go see it. You won't regret it.

Yea isnt the book awsome!! I bought the book in 99 after the show left NY. Its a pricey book but its as good as a PlayBoy year in review issue.
Maybe I'm wacked but I'd take that funny looking bike on page 376 for a full day ride over a full night ride on Pam Anderson. (pg.376,Britten V1000)
Gee, I hope you guys dont think I'm a nutcase now!!

That is a fabulous exhibit. Really just awesome. For those close enough, GO! For those too far away, here is the next best thing:

The show is closing...

This is an awsome show. I reccomend it to anyone thats really into the mechanical aspect of bikes. Some of these contraptions are one of a kind and most are VERY rare and you may never get another chance to see the cronological development of the motorcycle like this ever again.

Took it in last November when I was in town for the SEMA show. I think the bikes that caught my eye the most where the old Board Track Racers. The guys that raced during that time period had some big _____'s
