valve adj..

is it hard to adjust the valves? i hear a little ticking and maybe they need to be adjusted. 13000 miles.. only serviced once after breakin.

It´s kind of a pain just to check them. If one needs to be changed, it´s a real pain. Nothing that can´t be accomplished though, especially with the manual beside you. Just don´t get in a hurry.

vavles wear tight not loose, you will get a miss not a tick.
most of my ticking comes from exhaust leaks.

if its cold out and you hear it then it goes away,, it could be the oil??

Checking valves isin't really that bad. Maybe couple of hours and one hour more if You have to change the clearance. And if Your doing other maintenance You allready have the plastics of anyway. The horror stories about removing engine and all that stuff aren't true. I find it even easier than X11 because You don't have to remove airbox and carbs and all the that stuff. It really isin't "pain in the ass".
